MJHolland 12,725
How dare you ask such a question, it is horrible of you to suggest a hidden agenda or motive to the article He was making a reply to people like you who think that everything is a competition and that American couldn't POSSIBLY be better than any European nation in any category. (Well we are and one of them is GDP and those are cold hard number and you need to get over it or get out) Just take a nap and calm down a bit before logging back on Maybe I will lol thanks. Members in this thread that may or may not include you are extremely insufferable. :)

bionic 50,111
The person that was quoted was commenting on the UK's elitist attitude towards America (which can me seen in the thread pages 1-all of them) and he was making a snarky (and probably uncalled for) rebuttal, which was probably unprofessional of him. Now move on. But the person who said it is the one who did the calculations? And even without considering that, the second half of the article is about race relations? I am just trying to understand, please be patient with me.

hmm 979
He was making a reply to people like you who think that everything is a competition and that American couldn't POSSIBLY be better than any European nation in any category. (Well we are and one of them is GDP and those are cold hard number and you need to get over it or get out) But I thought it was solely about GDP. If we're talking "cold hard numbers" he shouldn't be bringing that in
MJHolland 12,725
And again. Who has a higher GDP? EU or the USA? :) USA: 1 country EU: 28 countries. So lets make this fair; since the USA is only one country and the EU is 28, lets multiple the USA's GDP by 28. Now whose is bigger? But if you wanna compare the two head to head, the EU has a slightly better margin than the US. Congratulations though But I thought it was solely about GDP. If we're talking "cold hard numbers" he shouldn't be bringing that in He shouldn't have. But he also wasn't the author of this article or the author of this thread. And I've made it very clear that this thread is about GDP alone. Respect that or join one of the abundantly anti-USA threads we have on this glorious website :) Thank you, and have a nice day. Economy 52,864
The largest factor of GDP by faarrrrr is consumer spending. yes... But its not healthy GDP if ur borrowing to sustain it. Any Nation can increase spending and increase its GDP. That doesnt speak to its real production. Now u can overspend a little. 3% of GDP isnt that bad Im just saying if the US were to balance itself like China, the US wouldnt have the largest GDP anymore Canada if we started running deficits of 3% of GDP and didnt put so much emphasis on surpluses again by 2015, our GDP Per Capita would probably be above the USA again like it was between 2008-2012 :coffee:
MJHolland 12,725
Is this real life? Lol fine, if you have to rally an entire continent made up of 28 different countries in order to feel adequate enough to compare yourself to one country, that is fine by me. congrats you win
FKAJAKE 5
You posted an article, and people are posting their thoughts and reactions.
