Well I wouldn't want to live there :wtf: I've seen Harry Brown, I know what goes on...

Please tell me you're being sarcastic.

There's literally no point in making threads about the US because there's always people from other countries feeling the need to make this a competition.

This.

And it's always THE SAME people.

GDP per capita isn't a particularly good measure of the quality of life a society enjoys

This comment says it all

Pretty sure this is the first or maybe the second time I've came into a thread to defend the UK from a biased and shady OP/article but ok! :thirst:

And relating to OP: I live in Texas and we are legally allowed to secede. We could be our own nation also because our economy is so good. In fact, we were our own nation for 9 years after Texas was no longer part of Mexico and after those 9 years it was annexed to the US.

Well in UK people don't have the right to carry guns

Is that supposed to be a bad thing? Woo poor British kids not getting shot up at school

The US has the 4th best median income in the world (yes, ABOVE THE UK) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_household_income

I knew this would turn into a US hate thread. Stay pressed I guess.

The U.S. as a whole country, yes, not the states themselves. Also, how is me telling true facts hating? :awkney: I live in the U.S., for ****'s sake. Either way, Norway and Switzerland, which your graph makes out to seem poor, is actually a lot better of than the entirety of the U.S. Not to mention they have a higher standard of living.

Why the shade towards them though? The others here have literally just said the article is pretty irrelevant for multiple reasons, which it is...

But it's interesting to me at least  Not everything has to be US vs. the world.

How good or bad a country is has **** all to do with money, if you want money, it's easily attainable all you have to do is work. It's quite clear that the UK is the better place to live, frankly, it ****s all over the USA. In my opinion, the USA lacks character and history, the houses are ugly, the laws are unintelligible, the education is bizzare and it just generally would be **** to live their compared to the UK
