Tbh, it's the only thing that would really make people get it

They gave themselves a bad name with Windows 8 so let's hope they wake up and make it free

Was Windows 8 that much of a misfire? What's wrong with it?

Is it as bad as Vista?

buy bionic

Is this coming in 3 days? wow slay

The event where they announce it + a beta would be available to the public is happening in 3 days.

The final product may come at the end of this year or early next year like they did with Windows 8

Personally I loved it, but many people were not really happy with the changes, especially the new start menu and removal of the start button  . So most people stuck with Windows 7 and never bothered to upgrade so they lost a lot of sales with Windows 8 (If I dare to say.....Their ARTPOP era) . But most people are excited for Windows 9 since they are bring back all the good features and adding some really amazing ones

please let it be free

ikr  We shall see on Tuesday

Like the start menu doesn't look that bad... you can't judge an operating system if you aren't an informatic engineer yourself.

Confirmed: Windows 9 To Be A Free Upgrade For Windows 8 Users

windows-9.jpg

According to Diantoro, the Windows 9 upgrade will be available free of charge to all existing Windows 8 users once it’s released. Apparently, users will be able to easily install the Windows 9 update after downloading it from Microsoft, which is how Apple’s OS X updates have been rolled out to Macs for a few years now. For what it’s worth, some of the recent Windows 9 leaks did say that Microsoft already has a tool in place that will allow users to easily perform software updates.

It’s not clear whether other Windows users who are on older versions of the OS will get any other special offers, and actual prices for Windows 9 have yet to be revealed. Microsoft is reportedly interested in moving many people from the older, and no longer supported, Windows XP and offering Windows 9 as a free download might be a great incentive for some.

Microsoft is going to soon unveil Windows 9 and release a technical preview of it. Recent leaks, including many videos, have revealed some of the major features coming to Windows 9, including the return of the Start menu, the Cortana voice-based search assistant that’s currently available only on Windows Phone, the Notification Center, support for multiple desktops, and several other UI enhancements.

Microsoft cannot afford to make Windows free to all, at once. Incomes from OneDrive, the Windows Store, and the like must mature first, granting the company revenue flexibility to be more drastic in a business model sense when it comes to its operating system.
