There was little momentum. People can't make up sitting through this and being underwhelmed. It happened to too many of us. Your first experience watching it is what counts, not going back after it's over and saying, well, this one is better than I thought at the time, because so many other ones were even more boring. I have to stand by my first impression, which was organic, no replays: The most boring VMAs I have ever viewed with a few performances that were great, but so few and far between the boredom would set back in for me while watching.
