Reasons why Iggy succeed instead of Azealia

"And lets be honest, Gaga didn't end up using her because she wasn't as trendy anymore at the end of 2013...cause she ended up using 2 convicted felons and a rapist sooooo yea."

BS - your 2nd point refutes the idea that Gaga picked collabs who were trendy, and says more about the criminality of typical black big-name rappers than it does about her taste. Back 10-20 years ago being a ganstra and having a criminal record was considered cool in rap.

No. Ms Banks is the sort of person who'd likely sh*t on Gaga after the collab and say she just had to make a crappy pop song with a white popstar because the label made her.

It simply just boils down to the fact that Iggy is more basic and easily digested by the public. Like Katy in a way, she gives the masses the genericness they want and it works for her :emma:

Are's Iggy's raps any more "basic" than Kanye, Snoop, or Jay Z's contributions to Katy and Rihanna hits. Fact is, Kanye's biggest hit is his feat. on ET, and I doubt Jay Z's has anything bigger than his feat. on Umbrella.

That's Kanyes biggest hit? Oh dear, no.

EDIT: WAIT I DIDNT SEE YOUR COMMENT ABOUT JAY Z TOO. I'm dead. You clearly do not know what you're talking about.

You are over complicating things. She's just an outright entitled rude bittch and she ostracized herself from a lot of people by running her mouth like she had Riri's credentials.

Plus, her music isn't that good. It just isn't.

She needs to earn queen status and no one is just going to hand it to her because she likes to wag her tongue at people for publicity. Dragging her peers for filth on Twitter for the hell of it did her no favors, talent or no. I can't stand her rotten ass.

The music business is a business and like any job, you don't go to work and trash talk people in positions of power above you. Just because most of the queens on here think she's fierce, doesn't mean it's going to do her career any favors. NEVER BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU.

Her primary problem above anything else is, she is completely inept at throwing shade.

Um 1st Azealia said she loved the song they had together. And when Gaga announced she had a song with "the king of RnB" it was more of a status thing, same with Too Short and Twista

That's Kanyes biggest hit? Oh dear, no.

Kinda epitomizes the frame of mind we are working with, doesn't it :rip:

Her attitude and her going against mainstream are two different issues and a lot of dissenters like you failed to see that :spin:

And mind you the ONLY reason why Interscope stopped their support was because they wanted to change her to be more mainstream and she refused.

Mess no it's not. Gold Digger and Stronger say hi :lmao:

Do not compare E.T with anything else Kanye has done. No one will remember Kanye because he was on some random, forgettable Katy collab :lmao:

You know, I came into the this thread thinking you'd actually make your point in a more mature matter.

Just because someone's mainstream doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. That is probably the most ignorant thing in your reasoning.
"American radio doesn't like extravagant and intelligent people" Then I guess Gaga must have been pretty stupid during The Fame, The Fame Monster, and Born This Way? You literally have no evidence to even support the fact that Iggy is some mindless, dumbass just because she produces radio friendly music. This reminds me of those people who say Kesha is an idiot because she's make party music yet she has an incredible IQ. Music quality =/= stupid artist.

That being said, I like Iggy and Azealia. Both of them are completely different artists. Stop putting them up against each other. It's all a matter of a song being liked by a majority. The more people like your song, the more people will want to hear it. I agree that Azealia is extremely talented and her mixtape is fresh no matter how many times you listen to it. Heavy Metal and Reflective is great too. I've heard people in my school talking about the song. However, it all comes down to radio plays. Not to mention, a lot of people have been put off by her bad attitude. She's apologized and approved her attitude but most people think of her as a trouble maker.

Rap/R&B music went to The top 10 in the 90s and early 2000s. Iggy's music is more pop influenced which makes it easier for her to top the Hot 100 and it's also where the crappies rap music is like 'Wiggle Wiggle' in the top 50. Fancy is a pop song and shouldn't even be anywhere on top of the Hip-Hop And R&B charts.

Azealia has plenty of Radio friendly songs like Luxury, Esta Noche and arguably the whole 1991 ep. One radio deal could get her out there

At least Iggy is smart enough to know that you can't act like a **** when you don't even have your first record out.

And we got a winner. Tho what the op isnt necessarily wrong

Reason why Iggy succeeded, instead of Azealia?

The support of a major label and good management, especially in today's music climate. Iggy kept her record deal and is reaping the benefits of being signed with a major label.

actually the reason iggy is more successful than azealia is because she knows when to keep her mouth shut and not get into stupid twitter beefs with everyone. yes azealia is more talented obviously. she had a really great chance of making it with all the buzz surrounding her but she blew it with her mouth. now shes struggling.

iggy has catchy songs and isn't making waves with anyone at the moment. hate on her all you want, but she's doing what shes supposed to do, and its serving her well. :ohwell:
