Wootan 0
The Fame IS underrated on GGD. The concept is totally misunderstood and the entire era is considered as something mainstream and commercial, senseless and without any proper artistry. These people obviously don't know anything about this album. Just watch some of her very first interviews, look at her outfits and videos, you will find a lot of cultural and artistic references. In all honesty, I really think this is when she worked the most on a project. There were so many different vocals and instrumentals for each song. There were interludes, technology, outfits crafted by the Haus,... And the list goes on... Not my favorite album, but by far my favorite era.
Koala 3
Of course it is, and the fame monster is overrated
SlaeUrAnus 15,970
The ARTPOP stans think it is overrated, but it is her second best album behind TFM. In my messy era.

faux 2,190
No need to put other Gaga albums down to praise another. All of them are epic and amazing.

Laceface 2,964
Yeah definitely underrated here, mainly because most of the people here were too young to experience its debut and magic. Others might forget because it seems to long ago, but it was perfect and revolutionary in music for the time it came out. It was a massive stand-out album
Didymus 34,380
Definitely! People calling it basic and filler My favorite Gaga album
GagaDragon 10
Easily the most underrated here, i die a little inside when people say ARTPOP is the better album.
eifulien 2,969
You just are unbelievable. A thread about The Fame and yet again you start dragging ARTPOP... I don't think The Fame is underrated. Maybe less appreciated. But I think it gets what it deserves. While as a standalone album it is nothing to write home about, as a debut I'd say it is phenomenal in some aspects. After all it's this album that made Gaga well Gaga... Otherwise, it is, well, a pretty standard album - several HQ single-worthy songs surrounded by filler that's actually not that bad... gagarunner 0
I think a lot of people forget that she was only 22 when the album was released. She has definitely grown as a singer and songwriter since 'the fame'. Other than the 4 singles, yes 'the fame' isn't as 'good' as her new stuff, but in 2008, there was nothing like this released--with the fame and TFM, she literally changed the entire pop music landscape. Benji 20,113
You just are unbelievable. A thread about The Fame and yet again you start dragging ARTPOP... People gotta compare it to something
eifulien 2,969
People gotta compare it to something I'm not against it. And I definitely see similarities between the two. What annoys me is that people just bash an album (because honestly we are divided into 3 - there are TF/TFM fans, BTW fans & ARTPOP fans) without supporting their argument with some thoughts/explanations... So my point is - OK, it's all right if u say ARTPOP sucks and the Fame is the best. Just support your argument so I can see it...
