cosmicPOPdream 4
Gaga definitely has AND will continue to evolve. In order for you to better understand that you'd have to first and foremost appreciate ARTPOP as an artistic piece and not just an album with a few "hit-worthy" songs. AKA UR NOT A TRUE GAGA FAN BYE! You don't want real people, you want fantasies and characters. pardon me for never, ever, ever wanting to hear about an incredibly rich stranger's love interests or dogs and being strictly interested in their work, not them. a stranger who i know and only ever will know through said work. we are surrounded by real people. gaga is an entertainer whom i do not know and cannot think of any reason why i am supposed to want to intimately know her despite her never knowing whether i know her (or what she claims about herself) or not. Shaney 5,515
We still don't know what she does AT ALL. We see her come outside in all these amazing outfits, only to find out a few months later that it was for a photo shoot; not to mention, she really doesn't let us in on much of her personal life like you were saying. Sure she has lost her mysterious persona, but that is far from a bad thing. People should see who she really is. Just a NYC girl with a quirky edge. In my eyes, that's how I see her. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
with many of these replies, it now makes sense how computer generated pop stars and celebrities can actually get fan bases. You don't want real people, you want fantasies and characters. "Lady GaGa" was more than just a simple fantasy though. A simple, shallow fantasy would be a kid stanning for Katy Perry just because she has big breasts and the kid wants to look like her, AKA all image with no substance. Gaga captivated people not just with her incredible, creative looks but also with her words. She was like a mad genius who so threw herself into her work that it was hard to even imagine her living a normal life. She instantly became a larger than life icon. The thing is, she does a lot of that same stuff now, just without the fearlessness, the confidence, the personality, and the perfectionism. It's not the fact that we know her better that kills the fantasy, because we were close to her during the BTW era as well and yet she still kept it mostly alive back then. It's the fact that she seems frankly boring and out of touch a lot of the time. Like someone said earlier in the thread, she's aged too fast. She just turned 28 yet she acts much older than that. I understand she's been through a lot and that she was exhausted this era, but that doesn't make what we're saying any less true.
SharGaga 2,906
She needs to drop the Lady Gaga persona. Her artistic vision has already peaked in my opinion with most of her team like Boomback etc being gone. She should try going a new direction or something. With the GUY video I felt she was trying to recreate what she was creating during TF/TFM but it's just not as good anymore. It's good she's going acoustic for an era, let's see how it pans out. But the team she had during the TF/TFM/BTW aint never coming back. I also felt like she was recreating the same kind of hit formula music with ARTPOP, like she did with TF but again the music just isn't as good anymore. She should hook up with good producers and not DJWS. J&D is just one of the worst songs ever and the fact that it even was included in ARTPOP makes me question what happened with her taste in music and makes me think she likes to surround herself with a lot of Yes-men. monstereo 1,232
People change.....She is still the Gaga we know and love Except not really She's way to candid now, its like she doesn't care about her superstar persona anymore. Where's the mystery? Where's the 'I don't know her but I want to' aspect about her?
