i agree totally but what I am trying to say is that the problem doesn't only lie with the police force who can't force black officers into their department, but the problem also lies with a community that has done very little to get involved in their local police force.

 

The problem is that there is some kind of unspoken or perceived road block, that for some miraculous reason, doesn't seem to exist in other communities similar to this one.

I dont think this was murder. Its going to be either manslaughter or an acquittal. It depends on if the jury will think it 1). it was justified for the cop to shoot at Brown as he was fleeing, and 2). if it was justified for the cop to continue shooting Brown after he had already been hit and was bent over. Thats if the case even goes to a jury.

 

I think it probably was justified. You could argue the cop shouldn't have shot Brown after he was already going down, but once Brown started moving towards the cop after he was told to freeze I think its legal for the cop to shoot to kill, especially after he had been attacked in his car and Bown tried to take his weapon.
Its not a civil right case either. I dont see race playing a role at all.

Here's basically my point of view. I live maybe 20 min away from Furgeson. This is entirely my opinion and many many other locals believe this also.

 

Mike Brown wasn't innocent. He robbed a store to steal Swisser Sweets cigars (Which are used to make Blunts because of the paper, which is common around here) He was high and beat up Darren.

 

The protesters, sure they have a right to protest but it's getting old. The blacks vs white cop thing has been in st.louis for a very long time and it's going nowhere. STL is a bad city...there are areas where you will get shot at. There are thugs everywhere downthere asking for money or for smokes. The protesters need to stick to daylight hours. Furgeson was once a nice city, my parents lived there 20 years ago and now look at it.

 

Some of the African community in STL tend to play the racism card a lot and they say that they aren't being treated equally when we have given them plenty of equal rights in STL. They choose not to take them.

 

A lot of locals are upset. Me including. These protesters/looters have ruined Ferguson and some of these business they burnt down/looted wont be coming back. That QT they burned down, isn't coming back. That's a fact. It's going to be an empty lot. Call me racist, but you wont know anything until you lived and visit downtown STL on a regular basis (My ex had an apartment on 8th and pine)

 

Saint Louis was just getting back on it's feet. It was voted one of the Top 5 most dangerous cities multiple years, and after this incident it'll surely make #1

Thanks for sharing... it's maybe not the "PC" way to look at things, but your feelings seem really passionate and genuine, and I always appreciate that. What do you think it will take to make the St Louis area safer/nicer? What do you think all people (citizens, police, media, politicians) need to do to differently to live more harmoniously with each other?
