Blissey 13
I have been listening to Bastards so much recently. It is truly and amazing remix album and should be considered part of her general discography. I only wish that she had included a remix of Moon as well. Homogenik 5
The excellent Slips remix of Moon is on Bastards... It really is a great remix album. Except for the 40 second Sacrifice thing...
Shu Rin 64
Been overloading on Björk these past few months. My parent's got me Debut and Greatest Hits for Christmas. Then with money I got from family, I ordered Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, Family Tree and Live Box. I'm saving up to buy the rest of the discography later. But I have one question to ask, do any of you think Selmasongs and Drawing Restraint 9 are worth buying? I've been on the fence about getting those 2 for awhile now. The Earth remembers, the stones remember. If you know how to listen, they will tell you many things.

They're definitely worth getting, Selmasongs is very underrated. DR9 is more strange and haunting but the photos of the CD that I have seen look really cool. :) anybody knows you can conjure anything by the dark of the moon

DR9, not so much, although it is interesting. It also features the amazing Storm: Edited February 21, 2013 by Homogenik

Part of the reason I even considered buying DR9 was for Storm and 2 other tracks I heard that were simply beautiful. Edited February 22, 2013 by Shu Rin The Earth remembers, the stones remember. Blissey 13
The excellent Slips remix of Moon is on Bastards... It really is a great remix album. Except for the 40 second Sacrifice thing... Oh goodness me. It seems my Bastards tracklisting is incorrect and is missing that remix. I knew something wasn't right. Time to update that. I must also add that I completely disagree about the "40 second Sacrifice thing". The Matthew Herbert remix of Sacrifice is beautiful and fits very well with the album in my humble opinion, I only wish it were longer. Edit: It seems my tracklisting has the Cosmogony El Gueincho Remix instead of the Moon remix. I very much like that song as well so now I will have to decide how to arrange the tracklisting. Also I have been thinking of making a Biophilia master tracklisting with the best versions of each song either from the traditional album or Bastards. What tracklisting would you set up using the two cds? Edited February 22, 2013 by newbjorkcity

PokeHerFace 6
why are you tired of sjon when he's only contributed minimally to her lyrics (like less than 5 songs since bachelorette when she's written like 40+ (estimating can't be bothered to work it out right) since then and she's only worked with mark bell on a couple of tracks too (dark matter is the only one on biophilia and it sounds nothing like anything she or he has ever done before) declare independence on volta (nothing like dark matter or any of their previous tracks either - only vaguely tinges on "pluto") and some help with arrangements on medulla (again nothing like any of their previous or later work together) and i don't even remember what he did on vespertine but that's a complete u-turn from homogenic (which he is supposedly most prominently featured on). so yeah these are her only consistent collaborators but their work with her is so uniquely different that any similarities you find i'm pretty sure are nothing to do with them. if you feel she's repeating herself, it's not because of sjon or mark bell. she's not interested in repeating herself, so she's never going to go back there and do what she did 20 years ago. Sjon has been on the last three albums. Mark Bell, the same. It's just repetition - the same people, the same sound, the same theme. "Declare Independence" was an old Mark Bell track. She wrote lyrics on top of it. He was djing with the instrumental for years. "Biophillia" sounds exactly like what she's done before, right down to the brass (which was the gimmick on "Volta"). I'm tired of the nature theme. She's obviously interested in repeating herself. Most of Bjork's fans force themselves to like whatever she turns out. I've watched it happen with each new album. They hated "Biophilia" when it was first released. Now it's 'her best album.' She's become pretentious. I blame Matthew Barney for that. Her songs put me to sleep. I hate those non-melodic tracks. Trust me, I've been a fan since "Debut." I've followed her career post-Sugarcubes. This is all my opinion mind you, but I'm not some novice when it comes to her work. I really didn't like Bastards that much as a whole. That's funny since a lot of initial responses out there were: 'Bastards actually makes "Biophilia" listenable.' There was an official review that said exactly the same thing. I happen to agree with them. I like the album cover.

I definitely love most of the remixes and the cover is perfect- but I think that the Biophilia Remix Series was better in the way it was released. Most of the remixes in the series are on Bastards, but the ones by the same people on one cd/vinyl worked a lot better for me. You're set is absolutely flawless I've been meaning to tell you that for a while now. Thanks The paris residency started yesterday and they say she didnt even play classics like Jóga, Unravel, Human Behaviour, All is full of Love, Hyperballad and so on.... :( She changes the set list basically every show...
