PopBitch 1,218
No, for me it's above TF but below BTW and TFM. The music is good but forgettable. It does nothing new and has nothing that differentiates itself sonically from any other current album.I agree with everything you said about Artpot, except The Fame is better. The Fame's best songs were great, even if there was filler.
socotra 3,310
I think musically, it's definitely her best. Without taking into account anything save the music, the 15 tracks, it's her best album. There's not a song on it I dislike. 13 of them are strong as hell (in my opinion, Fashion! and Donatella are weak) and it's great luxury pop. It's above other pop. If ARTPOP is caviar, everything else is frozen fish from the supermarket. That's how I see it. I love it. It definitely beats The Fame Monster (her second best major project) because TFM is narrowed to a certain topic. ARTPOP has a more eclectic range of subject matters it covers. Born This Way's subject matter is even more diverse, but I'm not a huge fan of BTW's sonic style.

I have other points but it's discussed to death now and I'd rather just look forward instead of back.
Bio 23,538
In terms of music yes, it's a great production and it all fits together. In terms of impact Born This Way is her best.
Quark 7,098
No, it's her "worst" album. 1. No theme. "anything" = nothing 2. Lyrics aren't to the same standard as Born This Way/TFM but lack the fun of The Fame. 3. The production sounds dated, the other albums (especially Born This Way) have a timeless feel to them but ARTPOP sounds like it was supposed to be released in 2012. 4. None of the other genres (INSERT GENRE/POP) are properly explored. MANiCURE sounds like a Bratz track, Swine is cold on the table when it should be burning up etc etc 5. The tracks sound unfinished and lacklustre, there's something missing on every single one. Born This Way > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP 1. Anything is definitely a theme whether you like it or not. 2. The lyrics have beautiful stories such as Gypsy. They have deep meanings such as Swine and Dope. They provide artistic symbolism Aura, ARTPOP, ect. And she also has some fun songs like Venus, Fashion, MANiCURE ect. 3. What songs sound like Aura, MJH, ARTPOP, ect. On the radio? 4. Most songs have a mixture of different genres. 5. I guess that is just a matter of opinion.
idldte 2
I know people have it and i accept it. I just knew u were say ARTPOP is her worst, like you said on EVERY thread about this flawless masterpiece Um, the OP is asking whether we think ARTPOP is her best or not, so I answered. Did you not read the title or what?
Quark 7,098
He's talking the sounds itself, while you're talking about lyrics. On that note, while I love Swine's suject matter and lyrics and overall structure, I wish it followed the Swinefest version more closely. I gave examples of both. If an all you can eat buffet of old rotten food is a theme, then I suppose you're right! ARTPOP has a "theme." 2. Have you listened to her previous albums? They all tell better stories with smarter and more alluding lyrics than everything on ARTPOP. 3. Why do they have to sound like what's on the radio? Aura is too messy (and now watered down) for radio, Mary Jane Holland is even messier and ARTPOP is just atrociously boring, maybe it's on a radio station for the insomniacs? 4. That's what I said, but none of them properly explore or grab the genre. They just poke a stick at it. 5. Everything here is a matter of opinion
DirtyIceCream 9
I can't choose my favorite album, I'm biased because I always overplay her albums nonstop/everyday until the new album comes out...then I get obsessed with the new album and can't listen to the older ones anymore I need a few years before I can listen to the singles from the first two albums again, I didnt even want them performed at artRave..Im so over those songs right now.. I will say ARTPOP has some of her best work that she's ever done, the good songs are some of her best. (Swine, Aura, Venus, Jewels N' Drugs, Do What u Want, ARTPOP, and Mary Jane Holland are all really strong for me). There are some things I would prefer she kept from the Swinefest versions when releasing the album versions (Squealing in Swine, Background vocals at the end of ARTPOP, demo vocals for Aura) but imagine if she never performed them before the album release!!! We wouldn't have those versions of the songs in our heads in the first place.. The only letdown with this album has been the lack of promotion/performances/videos/ARTPOP app failure....these were all things GaGa promised for this album and obviously had some issues executing everything.. Before the album came out she promised a video for every song!!! SMH -_- I bet if this album did better in all those aspects and commercially, people wouldn't keep calling it a flop album!!! The Fame Monster is soo overrated on here..honestly I feel like its only because that was her biggest commercial success and when she was the most popular. Eggsy 8,280
No... Reason... The Fame started this all.. There would be no Monsters if it wasnt for her debute album... The Fame is still the best... Is ARTPOP good... Heck yeah... But I will never forget the day i was in a Gay bar called MOZ and heard just dance for the first time... I had goosebumps and yelled out WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ISSSSSSSSSSSSS THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Even if that theme is rotten like you say. 2. Yes her previous albums have great storytelling but ARTPOP also has those. They are just different stories. 3. Because you said that ARTPOP has nothing fresh sounding. And even if you think the songs are messy, it doesn't mean that they are dated. 4. The album has many genres and all the songs explore different sounds. 5. Yeah, but there are things that are more subjective than others. Specially when you are debating.
