Kenon Astro 0
ARTPOP MUSIC VIDEO Directed, produced, and written by me; starring Eric Martin. A psychological journey into the mind of an artist, struggling for his passion and pushing for harmony by traveling to the root and purging his inner demons. Will he succeed? ***NOW VIEWABLE ON MOBILE DEVICES!*** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSuDd21qwFM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSuDd21qwFM Additional info: I am a filmmaker, and for a long time I have struggled with my insecurities as I haven't taken any film classes and feel behind the rest of my peers. I thought about changing my major many times because I'm not good enough, but Gaga has inspired me to keep doing what I love, and as a result, I have made this video. To me, it represents a personal path I relate to; an artist's journey to hell, heaven, and back. Therefore, I want to reach Gaga with this video to gratefully show her the product of her inspiration. I have tried in the Las Vegas artRave to go backstage, but didn't succeed. She picked up my gypsy-dressed Barbie, but couldn't open the note in time and tossed it away. So if you appreciate what you see, I would be grateful if you could spread its beauty to others and hopefully Gaga. :) SURVEY QUESTIONS AFTER WATCHING 1) During the first verse of the song/video, did your attention feel captivated? Or did you feel bland and uninterested? 2) Which was your favorite part of the video? Least? 3) Did you understand the story or the theme? 4) Any other feedback VIDEO ANALYSIS BREAKDOWN: (if you're lazy to interpret) An artist struggles with his passion, trying to keep his scale of tools balanced. The blank canvas reflects his artistic dryness. A look inside his mind portrays his fight as a dancer who keeps falling, but at the same time relentless. We go deeper to see his metaphorical haircut as his identity is helplessly stripped away by a faceless man who plays the role of an oppressor (sometimes artistic freedom is repressed because people who don't understand it or don't like it will try to take it away from you) The artist breaks his focus and drops the tools, spilling color to his canvas, but not necessarily the ones he was looking for. Inner demons of the mind are released through this purging process. The red demon (a nod to Gaga's Applause) is his lust for FAME, the VANITY demon reflects his broken image, the black demon is his SPIRITUAL side, torn in half between two opposing vices. These three demons terrorize him as he vomits and fights for control, but through their creation, a ray of hope is conceived (the mystery box). He opens it and transforms into the magician, an eccentric spirit. However, his 15 seconds of fame doesn’t last long and shatters to illusion. Not true happiness yet. The man in the bathtub is Marat (from the Death of Marat painting by Jacques David), who is another personality of the artist. He writes his dying message and releases it into the dark. We now break into another world of fantasy. A yellow beach gypsy is about to take her life, but is liberated by the mysterious letter that Marat has sent. This is an idea of sacrifice; that Marat has given up his life to inspire and save others. We now travel back into the psychological dance of the artist. He gets up and dances harder and harder, finally achieving victory at the end. The blank canvas transforms into a doorway. He walks into the light and escapes to the outside realm (this world of “gypsy†people). This is when he truly believed in himself and the true colors appeared. He goes to find two stranded gypsies (metaphorically chained) and uses his success to free them. The message of freedom is passed on as everyone celebrates and moves towards harmony. …But it’s not over. Back in the dark, we see a reversal process happening. The dark rises, the demons merge together and become a “frankenstein†corpse left behind. They “undress†and pose the ultimate statement at the end: “ANYTHINGâ€. Did the artist truly achieve his nirvana? Was he liberated, or still confined in his mind? That’s up to each viewer’s experience to decide, or to simply dismiss. calmar 22,109
I really like it I interpreted it as someone working hard to find his dream of finding applause on stage, and his struggle inspires others around the world, and he uses his success to free them. The obstacles in your path could be anything, but they are still surmountable. 俺の勝利は揺るぎない

Lassex 1,169
Wow. That was so amazing :emo: There are so many things I loved in it but the 2:58-3:07 part gave me chills. And I think the Gaga references were cool! Also, I'm not the right person to criticize but I feel like video could've been more ''synchronized'' with the music even tho it's abstract. Anyway, it was beautiful and I hope you'll keep making videos!
