The airline have lost their biggest market that is Mainland China (60%) after MH370 accident in March, and losing not less than $1.6 Million a day. They are financially strapped and predicted to bankrupt soon enough. This accident can be the last straw. The question by many are, why did they choose to fly on that air space. So many airlines have given the conflict zone a wide berth and take a longer route since the Crimea conflict happening, and aviation agencies issued risk warnings in April related to it. Why didn't MAS?? Very poor decision taking that risks everyone's safety. All that left now are heart break, pain, and regrets. But there were other planes flying over the airspace when MH17 was shot down, I think it just happens to be a coincidence that it was Malaysia Airlines.
