I don't like the nominees that much. Let's not watch the VMA's until the repetitions so that they get some karma

edit: How funny would it be if NONE of us watched it? Their ratings will be the worst ever LMAO. Then they will know who's boss.  :kissga:

sad. applause is so high end and well crafted. almost every other video is about how s-xy you can be, how much you can sell something, more or less yourself. such a shame tbh.

So her videos getting snubbed is proof that the videos aren't the issue? That seems like a contradiction. We don't know why they didn't nominate her. Maybe they thought the videos weren't good enough or memorable enough. Just because some of her hardcore fans love the Applause/G.U.Y. videos doesn't mean anyone else is interested.

but see here's the fallacy to your counter argument: hype and social praise and interest doesn't give something quality either, and based on some of the videos nominated it clearly doesn't reflect the best of quality or artistic merit.

How as G.U.Y. at least not nominated? That video was stunning! Also Britney dancing in the middle of a pool of sharks is extremely deserving of a nomination. VMAs must be joking this year.  :awkney:

ugh that got a nomination? pathetic. honestly.....

I'm sure this is an unpopular opinion on this board but I don't think G.U.Y. deserved any nominations, it's a very unprofessional video (poor direction and editing, hard to watch). Add to that the fact that the song sold like 30k and why would they nominate it?

Applause should have gotten one or two though.

I agree tbh. the real housewives of beverly hills, the no eyebrows asian look (no shade to asians), & the random revival of legends makes me cringe. I can only watch the bridge in full with comfort  :flop:

i'll be getting stoned harder

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

I was expecting a nomination for Applause.  It's kinda of weird watching that video now, it seems so far away from everything else happening in music.

only the more reason why it needs to be cleebrated and rewarded. its

this:5zVE5eM.jpg that we need in pop culture.

Good! One day GP will start to miss her im sure. I dont know who will watch Ariana so the rating will be probably very low

I wasn't referring to popularity when I said that. My point was that Gaga's stans may find art and merit in her videos, but that doesn't mean anyone else sees them as anything special. I like the Applause video but it isn't that memorable, even for a Gaga fan. I'm not surprised they didn't consider it.

They didn't nominate Katy for VOTY despite her having the two biggest hits/videos of the eligibility period, because her videos suck. They nominated Chandelier which is probably the best video released this year despite the song not being a hit.

Like djBuffoon said on my status, it's just further proof that her work with ARTPOP is not the issue whatsoever. Applause and G.U.Y. are arguably her two best music videos.

I agree.  This has nothing to do with Gaga's work.  MTV, like much of the industry, is determined to marginalize Gaga.  A Gaga comeback could hurt the artists they want to push.

I live outside the space time continuum.
