Staryu 6,162
imo I really see ARTPOP as its own thing, but that's an interesting way to see it I highly disagree with J&D though

Memo 176
i didnt really understand before, but given her recent tweet about cheek to cheek being the end to the beginning of her career and so forth, i now understand ARTPOP as sort of being the "yearbook" to her four albums. ARTPOP is not the antithesis of her past work, but rather the definition of it. it does in a way help me cope with the shock of her referencing herself in the way that this era has been. i was thinking born this way was already sort of the end of that part of her career, and i was expecting ARTPOP to be completely new, but as she said in her ampya interview in germany, she doesnt create with the intention of changing every "Era" like a female popstar is expected to, she just creates what she feels in the moment, and what she wanted to create wasn't mean to be different from her early works, and i get that now. true
Hedi 3
Yeahh I see what you're going for but I have to disagree; she's different as a whole on each album and there's a reason.for it.. I don't really care about her changing style as long as it's good music.
Yanko 9,860
Dear The Fame Stans, If you are out there and wanting Gaga to return to how she was during The Fame, guess what, she already has. Applause, G.U.Y, Donatella, Sexxx Dreams, and Fashion! are so The Fame. Dear The Fame Monster Stans, If you are out there and wanting Gaga to return to how she was during The Fame Monster, guess what, she already has. Aura, Venus, and Do What U Want are so The Fame Monster. Dear Born This Way Stans, If you are out there and wanting Gaga to return to how she was during Born This Way, guess what, she already has. MANiCURE, Jewels N Drugs, Mary Jane Holland, Dope, and Gypsy are so Born This Way. ARTPOP truly is a send off to the beginning of Gaga's career. Maybe this thread will make you appreciate ARTPOP a little more or maybe this thread will make you hate me even more lol. I feel like ARTPOP combined so many elements from Gaga's first 3 albums to create, if not her best, her second best work to date. Instead of being inspired by other artist's, I think she was inspired by herself for the most part. A true reverse warholian experience. no but the rest yes

Staryu 6,162
And I refuse to see this as the end of the beginning of her career! I want that B-Sides album dammit. inb4 betrayal
Yanko 9,860
I agree with your TF and BTW ones, but Aura is so BTW.. the distorted vocals, rough/passionate singing. Venus was also BTW.. a half-way decent dark sounding electronic song. DWUW is a mix of BTW's free-spirited screw everyone else attitude lyrics with a Fame-era style instrumental. aura is dance in the dark 2.0 the chorus

Venus was also BTW.. a half-way decent dark sounding electronic song. DWUW is a mix of BTW's free-spirited screw everyone else attitude lyrics with a Fame-era style instrumental. For Aura I was really lyrically think of how it is about personas and how Gaga's lover sees the "girl behind the aura". Do What U Want is also lyrically about the press and I think it could've ended The Fame Monster on a positive note. I definitely agree with everything you said though. The main purpose of me making this thread was to say that Gaga incorporated her past eras into ARTPOP and that people should stop begging for past eras back and start listening to the current one/one we just had. The songs were quickly thrown into albums so I didn't sit back and think about each individual one carefully. :laughga:

Cody Draco 2,531
the reach. not sure if trolling or being serious. I'm being serious. Those songs are mature versions of The Fame songs. Sexxx Dreams is LoveGame 2.0. Applause is the crown of the entire The Fame album. Donatella is a collection of The Fame filler tracks. G.U.Y is a more mature wannabe Poker Face. Red and blue stan right here C2C aka basic songs lyrically with an emphasis on amazing raw vocals is coming soon.
JusticeforVenus 950
Venus is very ARTPOP ,
Cody Draco 2,531
And I refuse to see this as the end of the beginning of her career! I want that B-Sides album dammit. inb4 betrayal I love you, I'm hoping you get that B-Sides album. It's not that I don't want it, but I feel like if she releases it we will have to wait a lot longer for an album full of brand new Gaga. C2C and a B-Sides album would mean no new Gaga until 2016 at the earliest I think. :emo: Venus is very ARTPOP , True and so is the title track. I'm not saying ARTPOP isn't it's own thing, but I feel like she incorporated her first 3 albums into it. I'm just tired of seeing people complain about ARTPOP's music and whining for past eras when past eras are present in ARTPOP.
