Just because she hasn't won one yet doesn't mean the trend will continue. ARTPOP may receive some nominations but I think chances are low for it to win. Jack White and The Black Keys have also been nominated for AOTY in recent years and are hugely respected in the industry. Wait and you also called Let It Go irrelevant, the song that just won an Oscar And Gaga has no chance of beating Katy for best Pop Vocal. The albums both got bad reviews but Prism has 2 monster hits and a lot of ballads on it. ARTPOP might win best Electronic Album though, I can't think of any competition she would have in that field. what ballads have to do with grammys and also if they are choosing a winner by hits and sales than f the grammys i think that winners should be albums with great songs and prism doesn't have that may good songs... I know let it go but lol idek who she is. And how about quality over the sales? ARTPOP has some great songs, as well as PRISM, but a lot are way too basic. If Katy made an album with tons of Unconditionally like songs then I'd be worried. But sadly no. And to say ARTPOP has no chance is ridiculous. And if Grammy's do base on popularity why does everyone consider Sam Smith (idek who that is) such a huge threat? If he's the guy who was competing against Lana then I doubt he will win. It was Arcade Fire. Best new artist? That one girl who everyone attacked because Justin Bieber didn't win. Besides this, ARTPOP wasn't a flop, it was moderately successful. It's a electronic album and could win something in that region. I could see Do What U Want winning best pop vocal performance, or Gypsy winning it, or something like that. I could see ARTPOP getting ONE big nomination, like AOTY. People are probably gonna judge me for saying that, but I can personally see it. We know that Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and Beyonce will all get the AOTY nomination. How about the other two? I don't see Katy getting nominated for AOTY. I don't see Miley, either, obviously. What other big albums came out this year? None. I can see it. I hope it gets something big. The Grammys also want names that will attract viewers & purchasers of their album; I think Gaga would, but they're too blind to see that. Because if it's R&B, then Best Pop Vocal Album is pretty bare and AP could have a shot. If Gaga had released Gypsy, then it would have been a contender for Best Pop Vocal Performance :/ DWUW could very well pick up Best R&B Performance or Best R&B Song. God, I hope they submit it. Almost every single critic loved DWUW, which could bode well for how the Grammy committee might respond. I'm still mad MTN's video didn't get anything, even at the VMAs.
