Pain of fame1

Are you sure this already existed? I think this is a song made to 'corrup' ARTPOP's image.

Guys, she's said numerous times that this is how she makes music. She either writes the song first and hears the melody on the piano (Dope, Gypsy, DWUW, etc.) or hears an instrumental from one of her producers and then writes melodies and lyrics to go over top (Donatella, Aura, Stache, MJH, etc). No one should be MAD about this. Listen to Donatella and Karma Bitch by Anjulie. Same instrumental, but completely different songs. Gaga still plays a hugely important role in the creation of the song, regardless of whether it's a recycled beat.

The fact that she CAN do this shows her talent. Where other pop stars have the songs made for them, Gaga can actually engage in a legit collaboration with her producer, hearing a groove and then creating her own song out of it. That's something that takes insane talent, and I think a lot of you don't realize that.

"I write all my own songs" ... shouldn't that include instrumentals?Β tumblr_inline_n2g4lqRlX11qf3eh3.gif

I'm ready for all you little managers to get out of this fanbase. It's toxic. It's unwarranted and ungrateful. The fact is that none of you understand music production or EDM music or even MUSIC in general. Gaga hires producers to produce her music. Those producers may have a vocal to go off of and they either find something that fits for them (unreleased material or originally crafted). 99 percent of the time when a song is released the public never finds out if it's original or unreleased but with Gaga everything is under the microscope because of the extreme level of standards that she is held to. I would like to know how many songs off of Prism, Britney Jean, and other albums from last year received the same treatment. We will never know... and why should we ever care? Gtfo if you cant understand this concept.Β

In this case it has nothing to do with being ungrateful.

Β

Yes, there's a certain benchmark in the industry about how a lot of EDM gets produced. "Everyone does it". But Gaga always made a clear point that she works hard andΒ writes her own stuff. Hard work.Β Believing in your own creative abilities. No shortcuts.

Β

It's only logical that she hires producers, as she doesn't yet have the technical insights that they have been trained for all their life. But she knows music. She writes melodies, plays instruments and has a strong vision. She has everything she needs toΒ collaborate with her producers to create strong, original pieces that were born fromΒ her artistic mind. That's why producers are there asΒ producers,Β not as songwriters. It's her name on the album cover.

Β

The irony of it all is that she didn't allow Cher to use The Greatest Thing. Cher loved it. But Gaga felt like she needed to "sit down with Cher" so that they could produce an original piece that "was a better fit to where Cher was in her life". But if you look at Aura and what Infected Mushroom thought about it, you can see that she doesn't really care for that stuff when it's the other way around. Cher made it clear that she wanted to use The Greatest Thing. But Gaga insisted that CherΒ deserved something more authentic. Yet when Infected Mushroom say they don't support Aura, it's not Gaga's problem?Β

Β

IMO it just goes against the entire working-ethic that she has stood for all this time.

Β

I'm sure she had her reasons, and I'm not saying that I suddenly dislike MJH (or Aura for that matter), but it sure as hell is confusing and a little dissapointing.

see i feel like to call it a "collaboration" between her and the producer they should be creating something off of scratch. that way they are both experiencing the same thing, with no agenda, no pre conceived vision.Β

Sorry, but from day one I've found it ridiculous that this woman is making EDM. She has too good of a voice and talent to do this s*it, just sing over old tracks etc. I think she seems so off and even she herself is not THAT much into EDM. MY opinion. She really is a jazz, rock'n'roll and just pure pop girl.

Β

MY opinion.

agreed even if BTW is my favorite album of all time, but Cheek to Cheek is the beginning of the changeΒ  :emo:

I'd rather all of these realisations come to the surface at once so we can all have one big collective meltdown and then move on, instead of one song at a time :emma: Imagine the meltdowns in a few weeks/months when there's a thread title saying "Jewels N Drugs recycled track leaked" :omg:
