LOL. At this point it wouldn't be a bad idea. The "XIII" tag is probably more a detriment than anything now. Wouldn't be surprised if this does get some sort of rename like Type 0 before official release.

But it stilll uses the XIII mythos, so it should use it... I'm not sure if Agito shared the same thing.

I haven't played Type 0, but I think it very vaguely did. I'm not sure the whole shared mythos thing is worth it. The "mythos" is the most poorly articulated part of XIII, and, were they to change the title, it would just seem like them reusing concepts/terms like "Eidolons" and "Espers."

Regardless of what it's called, they just need to reveal some ****ing progress already. I know, I know, you shouldn't rush creative endeavors. But, seriously, it's been FOREVER since this thing began development.

I say I like Final Fantasy, but I've never managed to get through a game (but I've played 4, 7, 10-2, and 12 (I usually get stuck at something other gamers would only find mildly annoying then give up (this was before I knew how to check the internet for game guides))). :toofloppy:

I beat Crisis Core, but that doesn't really count, does it?

Honestly, I just ignored the game exists, and when it gets a formal date and info, I will take it as the real announcement.

lol I want Type 0 now... I loved the demo.

My issue currently is why does Square keep that evil troll Toriyama.

My issue currently is why does Square keep that evil troll Toriyama.

It's because Yoshinori Kitase choose him to replace himself as game director and step down as producer.

One question how would you feel if Square Enix choose to outsource FF to other company to develop it?

I think fan backlash against him should be obvious to Square... Unless Japan loves him to death.

And it depends. Square hasn't had a good record with outsourcing, but however... If Eidos counts as outsourcing, then I would trust them, due to the ability of Square being able to be there 100%, and the nearly flawless years that Eidos has had since Square got them (Deus Ex, Just Cause, and Lara Croft:GoL are all great games, and I have faith in Hitman and Tomb Raider.)

Otherwise, I would like Platinum to do a FF ARPG spin off, lol.

Or Atlus to do a main FF title, lol.

*Final Fantasy real time tech demo - Luminous Studio

Famitsu's tiny report says SE is developing this in conjunction with their CG studio Visual Works, target hardware is next gen and they're hoping in the near future games can be played in real time with such quality of graphics. The project is called "Philosophy", and what was shown is a small part for everyone to see its potential.

To face the future challenges of game development head-on, our team at Square Enix is actively engaged in a comprehensive overhaul of our game development process. Leading this endeavor is the creation of a next-generation game engine aimed at delivering multi-platform, cutting-edge games for tomorrow's gaming systems. In order to achieve our goals, we've been looking for the best and brightest talent in the game industry.

Thanks to our recruiting efforts, which began last year, we've seen an influx of excellent developers not only from within Japan, but from various corners of the world as well. We've become a very international team, with about 30% of our members coming from outside of Japan. I'd like to stress that Japanese language proficiency is not a requirement; if you think you have the right skills and are able to communicate in either English or Japanese, don't hesitate to contact us.

In addition to our work on the game engine, we're also very excited about the development of our accompanying DirectX 11-based tech demo, Philosophy. We're looking for talented individuals to push graphics technology to its limits in the production of this groundbreaking demo.

Lastly, we also have openings for researchers interested in using their academic ability to support existing game engine technology, and to help guide the next generation of entertainment technology that will be enjoyed by millions.

If you have a passion for games and game engine development and would like to put your skills to the test, we'd love to hear from you. I'm sure you'll find both rewarding challenges and a satisfying and exciting experience.

Seeking the Best

Do want for FFXV. Got chills. Love how different this universe looks, like how FF12 was so drastic from 10. Can't wait.

The tech demo does look gorgeous. I wouldn't mind a more rustic, middle eastern theme for 15; I'm so burned out on the sleek techno vibe of 13. I want more fantasy in my Final Fantasy, a slightly medieval and fully realized game like 9 was, to end the PS3 era. If they break tradition of three games per console, I might cry...

FF12 had elements of a Middle-Eastern world along with a few other unique places, so I'm excited for it!

Also, this will technically be three games for the PS3 era, with 13-1, 13-2, and V13. They could use that as an excuse

Almost bought FF XIII-2 today, but reviews have put me off it. Waiting patiently for XIII-Versus :toofloppy:

If you find it for 15-20 bucks, its worth it. Otherwise, no.
