djBuffoon 12,196 Posted February 14 Share Posted February 14 (edited) Leading up to the release of Stranger Things season 5, I noticed a trend re: Noah “Will Byers” Schnapp. For every dozen positive/neutral posts, two or three would call him something horrible names, “baby killer”, “genocide supporter”, “Zionist”, etc. Someone on this very board called him a fascist. It all clicked. Whether you’re a fan of Noah or the show isn’t the point - it’s about how online discourse can twist things into total misrepresentation very quickly. Genuinely disturbing in parts, but worth reading. EDIT: Just to be clear, I support a free Palestine, and I support activism. And the most twisted part, a lot of these folks are his generation. They know how impossible it is to retract a fake narrative once it’s caught on, and they do it anyway.
