VforVendetta 2,024
I honestly think that it never does any good when fans have access to demos and early versions of songs. First of all the song loses a lot of the mystery it has because in the demo you can hear the process behind the song and the more early-natural vocals. Secondly when the fans listen the demos first they get used them and have issues with the final versions even if they are better or even if they are not. See Aura, Scheisse remix, Alejandro or MANiCURE and Sexxx Dreams. Also the anticipation and the surprise of the album release is lost. I mean think if we had never heard the SwineFest versions of the songs and we had heard the studio versions all at once with the album release, we would have been slayed even more. Finally it gives food to many fans to complain. I don't think that Gaga should let fans listen to early versions of the songs, especially before the release of the album. Fans don't need to know everything and they don't need to have an opiniom about everything when it comes to Gaga's musical effords. Its a mistake imo and this is why noone complained with TFM, because it came out of nowhere.
Mr Josh 3
Many demos sound like shÃt, I don't think she'd put them out.
bionic 50,106
Sure, if they leak. But they have no 'right' to have it otherwise.

Bear 7,515
I agree, it can take away the mystery behind a song
MJHolland 12,725
As a fan, yes. But only because of the slayage in the Aura demo tbh From the persecutive of Gaga, I'd agree that it's probably not a great idea though
lxdygxga 3,353
Fans only really have a "right" per sé to what the artist, i.e Gaga, wants to give them. If alternate versions find their way out, that's fine, but it's not the duty of the artist to provide alternatives. But I do agree that it can sometimes be a bad thing for fans to have access to demos. Aura is a prime example. The finished copy was not well received by many fans, because they already had pre-conceived notions of what the song was and how they it should be, due to the demo. However, the finished copy is what she wanted to present and was her artistic vision for the song (which is the most important thing), and that's what we got when all was said and done. I think it can be counter productive in that, you split your audience - some might like one, some might like the other. If only the finished copy got out, people could take it or leave it. Floppy 7,951
I hate the mystery and wish I could sit in the room as it's produced. Im greedy.
Laceface 2,964
If I had only heard Dope and not IWBWU I wouldn't of been happy on ARTPOP she seemed to over work a few parts on the songs when finalising them, which meant I kind of liked them more at SF. We have no right though, her work, her choice
Dr Rogoe 23
But it would interest to know how they sound like in developing process

Didymus 34,379
I don't think it's right to say that the Swinefest versions caused people to like the final songs less because we heard them first. In my honest opinion (and I know this is shared by some) some of the Swinefest versions were just better to my taste and that has nothing to do with the chronology of listenings. I don't think any of your points are factual, except the anticipation factor that indeed is bigger when you hear everything at once, even though Gaga herself gave an equally rational reasoning with her infamous "cumshot" a--logy. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Definitely not. I can never listen to Sex Dreams without hearing those synths that she took out
hughdancy 282
No. imo she should only play them backstage once or something. She should NEVER give people the files, or the opportunity to record it.
