Does everyone get accepted for Yosemite or do they just pick some of those who registered?

Are you a developer? :excited2:

Yes I am ;)

Believe me, the updates announced today just revolutionised how I'll be coding my apps. Apple just thrusted iOS and OSX to the top of the industry yet again. Those APIs are gonna really show for consumers by the end of 2014.

Anybody installed Yosemite or iOS 8 yet? Or are they not available yet for developers?

It's today they get released for developers right?

Looking at how Apple's really being the revolutionary company I fell in love with all these years ago, if the next Macs and iDevices are this good, things will be crazy and all evidence does point towards the fact that the iPhone will be quite the upgrade.

I ain't gettin iOS 8 or Yosemite yet. Way too many bugs.

I'm waiting till fall time.

Some mote tidbits:

Settings will now show battery usage per app.

iPads will gain the ability to take Panoramic photos like the iPhone, while the Camera will gain an instant burst mode, a timer mode, and separate controls for focus and exposure. iBooks will support an auto night mode and the ability to organize books by series, while notifications will include travel time.

A mysterious Tips app, which was first depicted in an early screenshot of iOS 8, is also mentioned, though it is unclear what this app will do. It is possible Tips will provide iOS users with information on lesser known iOS features, serving as a tutorial app for those who want to learn the ins and outs of their devices.

An "In Case of Emergency" card will be added to iOS 8, displaying contact information and possibly health-related information as well. Users will be able to use Siri to purchase iTunes content, Notes gains a new rich text editing feature, and RSS feeds are displayed within Shared Links in Safari.

Other mentioned features offering unknown functions include Place cards in other apps and Speak Screen.

Finally, there are also several accessibility improvements coming, including an Alex voice, Braille keyboard, improved zoom, and multi-device support for MFi hearing aids. Guided Access, which limits an iPad or iPhone to opening a single app, will gain time limits, a countdown timer, and Touch ID integration.

And Xcode 6 Allows Developers to Test Larger iPhone and iPad Screen Sizes.

Also, let's recap here. The Mac Pro and Pro Apps are top notch at the moment. Way ahead of the industry.

iOS 8 and OS 10.10 just blew everyone away, I'm sure all the macs will receive quite the upgrade Q1 2015 when the Intel Broadwell chips are out. iPads and iPhones will get (according to most rumours and supply chain reports) really fantastic updates this fall.

Apple's back b---hez

I think I'll get a new 15" rMBP next year.

The one I have is the mid-2012 one - the first released from the retina series. So it could maybe do with an update ~3 years after having it. :fan:

But, saying that it is operating perfectly fine - and the only fault is that 2 screws are missing, and I've just been too lazy to go and get them replaced. :emma:

But will definitely be getting a new iPhone when it's released :legend:
Will finally be able to get 4G/LTE :emma: (cause it's not supported on my network with my 5 :rip:)

I'm holding off on purchases at the moment. Moving to NYC in August. I'll be getting a new mac next year for sure. Don't know which yet.

I'll be getting the iPhone 6 FOR SURE. T-Mobile jump FTW!

Not yet sure when to get a new iPad. This fall or next (I have a first gen mini). I'll be getting a maxed out 128 gig full sized one next time though.

I upgraded to the retina iPad mini last year but I can't see myself buying a new iPad soon.

I barely use it and it has sat in my laptop bag for the last few months unused :toofunny:

I barely used my full size iPad either :rip:

Hehe. I'm using my iPad right now. What do you suggest though? If you had a first gen mini, would you get an iPad this fall or next year?

It would depend on the upgrade this year - although because you have a first gen I'd probably say upgrade.

I had a first gen mini too, and upgraded to retina last year - albeit the giant pain it was to buy one from the Apple store. :dies:
