I think I'll get a new 15" rMBP next year.

The one I have is the mid-2012 one - the first released from the retina series. So it could maybe do with an update ~3 years after having it. :fan:

But, saying that it is operating perfectly fine - and the only fault is that 2 screws are missing, and I've just been too lazy to go and get them replaced. :emma:

But will definitely be getting a new iPhone when it's released

Will finally be able to get 4G/LTE (cause it's not supported on my network with my 5 :rip:)

You have the same MBP as me :whitney:

I got SUCH  a great deal on mine though :laughga:

I upgraded the SSD to the 768GB one - so mine was £2699.

Claimed the vat back making it £2250, and then Apple screwed up my order so I got a £180 discount. :emma:

But now that I'm a student I get the student discount and Apple Care for like £70 compared to the regular £250 or something ridiculous like that :laughga:

Mine came with a 512GB SSD and 3 year apple care warranty (of which there was 2 and a half years left) because i bought it from a failed design student who had it for less than half a year and barely used it... i bought it for £900 instead of £2599 lmao I already had the retina screen replaced because of a pixel problem they showed me how much it would have cost (£438) but it was free because of Apple care :laughga:

Now I'm getting excited about the rest of the year. I mean, EVERY single product Apple makes will get a refresh now since they haven't refreshed anything yet (except obv the Mac Pro).

pixel problem

Yeah - that's how I got my discount.

After 2 pixel issued rMBPs I got pissed off and emailed Tim Cook (not expecting a reply) and the next day at 7am I get a call from an executive of online sales at Apples European HQ.

I was meant to get £80 in compensation - but the executive got their figures wrong and quoted me £150. They then said they'd bump it to £180. :laughga:

Nahh I just decided to go on the live tech support feature on their site, they set up an appointment at my local apple store, i brought it in they guy was like 'Because it is a retina MacBook Pro there is no room for any pixel anomalies, which there is on non retina models' they took it off me, told me to come back in 1 week because they didn't have the parts ready in their lab... the next day at like 8am i got a phone call to tell me it was ready to collect, they gave me a receipt  showing how much it would have cost me but was free with apple care (Yassssss :whitney: )

The weird thing is... about 2 years ago i could have been working in the very same Apple store as i was offered a position as an 'Apple Genius' on the second floor of the store... but turned it down :laughga: Because i wanted pursue my ultimate goal of being a graphic design artist... and the job schedule interfered with that :laughga: Im also an Apple developer and use their products for practically everything, you could say I'm obsessed :awkney:

The nearest Apple Store from me is 2 hours :blehga: (I have another annoying story concerning the retina iPad mini and the Apple store where I missed my 'appointment' for buying it by 5 minutes so they wouldn't let me buy it and I had to make another appointment for the next day :fail:).

Yes! I got told that too!

They were like, because the pixels are so small, you shouldn't be able to see any dead pixels.

And I'm like... Well... I can! :lolgaga: Nobody else could until I used a magnifying glass to show them. :rip:

That's good it was so quick!

Last year I spilled juice on my rMBP so I got the base 11" MBA to use for Uni until it was fixed - and when I got my rMBP back I was convinced it wasn't mine because it looked way bigger than I remembered. And it was only when I went to put it in my sleeve I was like... Okay... Maybe it is mine. :laughga:

I'd like to be an Apple Genius tbh - but the nearest store is too far away, and I'd be too tempted to just buy everything.

I think that would have been another big problem for me, but it was flattering to be offered it :laughga:

Am I right in saying there is a lot of training involved for Geniuses?

Also those screens behind the genius bar that are like a visual glossary annoy me - and I think I'd hate them after 5 minutes of working there. :lmao:

Aww :( Can't you apply for one?

(I wrote 'apple' instead of 'apply' at first :fail:)
