The funniest thing about this is now every discussion about what could have been will be about how they pulled the plug on it "before it had a chance to take off"  and "she didn't promote it enough." It was never going to do anything, period.

Promotion is always meant to boost awareness, which is in hopes of increasing its sales to score a better chart performance. Even the worst music material out there, if they're backed up with massive promotion (or at least a decent one), then the higher probability for it to chart better. While it could be argued that G.U.Y. or whatever the single is which came after an almost three month "blackout" in the middle of an album cycle will hardly be destined for a top 10 hit, "better" promotion, however, could push that material into a peak higher than #76 on the Billboard HOT 100.

There has to be atleast a 4th single. It would make no sense to end the era with only 3 singles.

I personally would love Gypsy and Venus/Aura as the 4th and 5th singles. Gypsy will be catchy for the GP. And I think Gaga needs to release either Venus or Aura for herself and her fans, we need either that intergalactic rave seashell video, or telephone continuation.

I just dont think she should end the era with nothing on the radio. It was the main problem from BTW into ARTPOP. Because tbh, the BTW era was not bad in all, just the way it ended and not touring the US.

IA, I really hope this doesn't put them off from releasing a 4th single. It would be too much like the Lotus and Britney Jean eras. Admitting defeat and not even trying is NAGL. Beyonce had many a underperforming single from 4, but her team and her label stood by her and kept everything business as usual. I'm not suggesting they release a 5th single, but a 4th single is standard for most albums, and if even Nelly Furtado's The Spirit Indestructible can be allowed that, I don't see why we can't get a 4th single from ARTPOP.

Is this a wrap for the ARTPOP singles then? I don't regret G.U.Y. being released at all, at least us fans get to appreciate a video that she worked hard on

Wet Fire

:smh:

But we tried our best (at least most of us) requesting and voting for G.U.Y. in radio. If it recieved better promotional campaign and more exposure by Gaga's promotional team and automatic support from radio stations, it would've become a big hit. The song also had its fantastic video to back it up! :)

How strange. It was just starting to receive decent airplay on two of my local pop stations.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
