John Norris has seen a lot of acts come and go over the decades, so I feel his perspective seems more interesting than say, some random blogger from Thought Catalog. I loved this too: Give me flaws. Give me Swine. I think that's part of why I like her, she's so messy at times, but you can tell there's real emotion there (which is the way I felt about Amy Winehouse, and also artists like Kanye and Courtney Love). She never bores me. Sure, it'd be easier to be a fan of someone "perfect", but perfection gets dull after a while. Some messiness, and a little crazy is so much more compelling. The artists that are bold enough put everything out there and into their lyrics and performances (no matter how seemingly bad of an idea it is) will always be far more interesting and easier to connect with than the flip side of that coin. It's a fantastic read and it's from MTV's John Norris, who interviewed her the day after SXSW. Gaga gets far too much criticism, and sometimes it sounds like people who are genuinely disappointed in her product, but 99% of the times it's just people taking cheap shots and trying to make people forget that she's incredibly talented and still very successful.
