For one thing, there are other effective ways to discipline kids, but this goes so far beyond "normal" corporal punishment, that it's kind of beside the point... I can't believe some of you really think she deserved to be repeatedly hit for five minutes until she fell over and was crying hysterically for posting nude pictures. Of course she should be punished as it's a very foolish and dangerous thing to do, but this was too much of the wrong kind of discipline... People and times change and usually smarten up. Because it happened in the old days does not make it better. They should know better by now. And please tell me how it is that if they did it in the old times people still got robbed and women still got raped? I said it pages ago, discipline, open communication should be done from the age that they can walk. When you have to beat a child like that, you're already way too late and trying to keep a teen like that in check is bound to fail almost 100% of the times, children don't become like that all of the sudden. But I suppose it's easy to blame a kid on something rather then look at the mirror and see what you've done wrong as a parent and trying to fix the underlying issue. On facebook... And no, if she is living with her parents she isn't allowed to post nude pictures of herself on a public forum if they don't want her too. Well nobody feels like cleaning up all day. it's call discipline. not beat. that woud be hitting her in the face with the belt or make her take off her clothes and whip her. Communication DOES come first but your child/teen should know better because YOU raised them. That lady loves her child because of the way she was telling her right from wrong. but it was bad that she recorded it. Kids today have no care in the world and need to learn there are consequences for your actions. Basically. The recording thing and the duration of it all was definitely excessive but there are far too many people out here letting their children act a full a**, respecting no one and facing minimal, if any, consequences. Additionally the daughter was young but hardly and infant AND what she was doing had potential to put herself in danger. That's where some parents are coming from with "whoopings". Because they're doing it from a corrective place as opposed to you getting your a** beat in the streets by someone who a.) doesn't know you and b.)doesn't care about you like your parent does. People act like kids are out here getting whoopings for talking in class, this girl posted nudes to facebook, an action that has numerous consequences (her mom was probably embarrassed).
