Marry the Night - I just think it's really overrated and never understood why people think it's so fantastic.

I also don't understand all the hate for You and I. That song is a jam :legend: One of her very best.

G.U.Y because it ruined chances for Gypsy to be a decent hit. When was the last time 4th single from major pop girl was successful?(besides E.T.)

Rude Boy, after Wait Your Turn peaked at #110, which is why I'm not worried about Gaga's career. Even Rihanna had a single that flopped! In fact she's had many, Gaga will be fine :MANiCURE:

DWUW. Having no video really ruined the song for me. Videos always make me love the songs 100 times more :nooo:

Judas imo it actually affected sales of TEOG, one of my BTW's favourite tracks

don't get me wrong, in fact, I used to keep listening to Judas, it was one of my very fine faves in the past

Psychedelic

I have to disagree. It was probably one of the saving graces of this era. Its popularity was really sustained and it didnt drop like a rock after a week like DWUW did. I think people genuinely liked Applause, it was very sing-alongable classic gaga whilst still bringing something a lil new to the table. The perfect way to start an era. If anything DWUW was the nail in the coffin of this era. All the bad publicity, the new unfamiliar Rnb sound (alot of my non-gaga friends didnt even know it was her singing on that track). And the poorly handled promotion and lack of video was such a momentum killer, obviously affectinh GUY's performance and reception. Just my opinion.

I must admit, your theory is more viable than mine... still DWYW sounds 10k x better to my ears than Applause's sing-alongable tune!

I said Telephone, because it's a song and a music video I would not miss. But now that I think about it, Do What U Want. I think that's the best song from ARTPOP and it was released in a very strange way, not to mention the lack of news and drama backstage. It's a song that DESERVED to be successful, better than any other song on the album. She should've released Venus at that time because people were thirsty for her, Do What U Want would've been a perfect third single after the album was released, it's catchy, it's different, it has an R&B sound, it's what people would buy the album for, but unfortunately, it didn't happen.

That's why I'd remove Do What U Want from her singles list, and I guess it should've been released later. I mean, it's a brilliant song, and deserves a single treatment, but we don't know what happened.

If anything, Gaga should've released Aura and Applause as singles before the album dropped, then another single (perhaps GUY or Venus, who knows) and then Do What U Want. It's like, the perfect song to be released after the album, because it's not just something the fans would buy.
