I agree about the videos...they went down hill quickly after Telephone...they simply didn't match the songs properly, although I think GUY is a more a return to what made them good in the first place. I don't watch the music channels that much but I haven't see GUY on there at all

Working with RK was always a  terrible idea. ...I'm not suprised that the record label got cold feet over that one. Then switching singles at the last minute sank Venus and the album with it- another bad call

Gaga has an amazing voice and the latent, AP isn't a bad album but she needs to drop all the other stuff and just focus on the music again rather than banging on about grand art concepts (or whatever AP is supposed to be)- which simply no-one is buying into

that said whilst she can't give away the album here in the UK Gags can still sell concert tickets

whoever calls a bad era, the end of a career, doesnt know one thing about this industry, how many times did Madonna and MJ seemed to be over?

true dat

And I seem to remember Beyoncé's 4 didn't do that great but Beyonce: The Visual Album did really well.

she hasn't as the writer said always been about empowering her fans (TF and TFM were about her fame not the fans),

I just want to point out The Monster Ball 'I want you to let go of your insecurities' and 'I want my fans to be themselves' and 'I felt like a freak, I want them to feel like they have a freak they can hang out with', 'not that they have to dress eccentric like me, but dress/be however they want to' during TFM and other interviews and 'The Fame is inside of you', 'it's about your inner sense of fame' and gay community empowerment and acknowledgment during The Fame era.

Gaga isn't having the same success, because the cards haven't been played well in a while. And this pertains mostly to music. Maybe if she had a team of writers and producers who told her what's in, she'd have more success? But this person dug deep for petty reasons. Music and visuals (if that) is all that needs to be discussed when it comes to a popstar's success. Is it being played on radio. Is their video going viral? Everything else is extraneous. She's falling cause she's normal? Give me a break. She's not confronting anything anymore? As if pop success ever had anything to do with being deep. Madonna had hits because the music paralleled mainstream music very closely (and when it didn't, it "flopped"). Poor man's Miley? What kind of sensationalist remark. lol

I know this is besides the point, but where were all of the articles complaining about Beyonce's "4" era and how utterly recycled the Girls (Run The world) concept was of Single Ladies? Or how horridly conventional it is to sing 2,000 songs about how "you just want to love ya man." (Interestingly, 4 and ARTPOP are respective 4th albums, yet Beyonce is a goddess now and Gaga is dead?)

And who's to say Gaga will "learn" from this. What is there to learn? What to do in order to "slay" again? Whether or not that's even her motive anymore is up to debate. No writer with absolutely no look into the inside world of Gaga's career can even begin to know where exactly Gaga's career will go and how she's managing it.

The only thing Kat George contributed to the world with this is that she doesn't like it (for very shallow reasons). That's her issue.

I couldn't say it better, bless this.

When you've got people still writing articles about you, you're either still relevant or have written your name in the history books. Gaga has nothing to be ashamed about at this point.

Ain't that the truth. I totally agree.

I'm sick of there being so much negativity on here lately though. Some people just have an occasional criticism and that's understandable, but those of you who have become obsessed with bashing Gaga can go scrub my chamber pot.  :fthis:

Why even post this in news?

Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.

A lot of it I agree with. Not all  of it, though. Honestly the whole "ARTPOP", pesudo-intellectual thing has just alienated so many people and straight up confused people. I honestly don't understand why she hasn't realized this - or, perhaps, refuses to accept it. Also in my opinion she has been unable to evolve as an artist...up until recently. It's like she's hit a brick wall or something. She needs to be able to change it up more if she wants to stay relevant and interesting. Her career def needs some help right about now.

this is literally cancer to my eyes and i hope gaga never listens to "fans" like you

Um...actually the whole "art" thing is quite potentially the reason her career has taken a severe nosedive and why ARTPOP turned off a lot of people, including a lot of her fans. The pretentiousness/pseudo-intellectualism has GOT to go. Like...its much harder to relate to her as a person when she's babbling away about weird intellectual/abstract artistic concepts that honestly make no sense. She's a pop star for a reason, and its what she does best. Of course it's important for her to evolve, but the whole "art" thing is honestly her being kind of full of herself and her being out of touch with reality. So, actually, I hope Gaga listens to fans who are GROUNDED and see through the bull****...and not to fans like you who can't seem to think for yourselves.

My artists friends all find Gaga unbearable now whenever she talks about her "art." She is very naive and isn't being taken seriously by the artistic community. Koons, Abramovic, and the vomit chick are clearly just jumping on the ride for self-promotional reasons.

After this I really feel like the general public would not respond well to another 'act' of ARTPOP...

She still does this stuff during ARTPOP and at her shows always let's everyone know they're free to be themselves and express their creativity.
