So it seems as though I always see people on here and ATRL complaining about Gaga's "streaming power". Sure, she's no Katy or Taylor, but Gaga missed some very important streaming years; 2014 and 2015 (so far). Yes, I know she had C2C in 2014 but streaming is not an issue for a traditional pop album full of covers. Anyways I decided to look up the Top 10 streaming tracks in the U.S + Globally to see how many streams Applause and DWUW would have on Spotify if they were released in 2014/2015.

Applause as of 4/26/2015: 88,809,143 worldwide streams
Do What U Want as of 4/26/2015: 64,911,998 worldwide streams

Global Top 10 (week of 9/29/2013):

1. Wrecking Ball 5.9m
2. Roar 5.5m
3. Wake Me Up 4.8m
4. Hold On, We're Going Home 4.5m
5. You Make Me 4.4m
6. Burn 3.8m
7. Hey Brother 3.6m
8. Blurred Lines 3.3m
9. We Can't Stop 3.3m
10. Applause 3.2m

Global Top 10 (week of 3/08/2015) btw I couldn't find a more recent week as Spotify is making repairs to their charts

1. FourFiveSeconds 16.3m (2.7x bigger)
2. Uptown Funk 14.5 (2.6x bigger)
3. Sugar 12.8m (2.6x bigger)
4. Thinking Out Loud 12.1m (2.6x bigger)
5. Love Me Like You Do 11.7m (2.6x bigger)
6. Take Me To Church 11m (2.8x bigger)
7. Earned It 10.6m (2.9x bigger)
8. Time of Our Lives 8.8m (2.6x bigger)
9. Cheerleader 8.3m (2.5x bigger)
10. Elastic Heart 7.9m (2.5x bigger)

So an average of songs now being streamed 2.6x more than they were during the ARTPOP era's late 2013 run here are where Applause and DWUW would be if released in 2015:

Applause (adjusted 2015 streams): 230,900,000
Do What U Want (adjusted 2015 streams): 168,700,000

So does that mean Wrecking ball should have almost 2B views and Roar 2.5B?

um no I'm talking about Spotify streams. Youtube views are a whole other situation.

Uptown Funk! only has 271M streams, so I seriously doubt Applause would have 230M streams if released around the same time

Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌

Girl, Uptown Funk is still at least averaging 1m A DAY. Probably around 8m-9m a week. It'll be at 400m in the long run.

We better stream the fukc out of her new pop single.

I feel she could easily top Spotify with her new single if it is good. If so, she should also upload an audio to youtube the first day. + If she did major iTunes campaign, she could sell too and maybe get top 5 debut.
