Russian-German DJ and music producer Zedd, who worked on several tracks on Lady Gaga's 2013 album ARTPOP, says she helped him score a record deal with Interscope Records.
Zedd, born Anton Zaslavski, revealed that a demo of a song called "Addicted to a Memory" got into the hands of Gaga, who was so impressed with the track that she called the young DJ to work on her album and helped him land a deal with her label home, Interscope Records.
"She said she wanted me to produce her album and she called Jimmy Iovine and said, 'You have to sign this kid,'" Zedd recalled. "So Jimmy signed me because Gaga called him."
"Addicted to a Memory" is featured on Zedd's latest album True Colors, available now.
