While most of us are celebrating the Supreme Court's historic ruling on marriage equality, which gave gay and lesbian couples the right to marry anywhere in the United States, it is important to acknowledge those who can't join the celebration because they are too young and still in the closet.

That is why at the Cheek to Cheek show in Connecticut on Monday, Lady Gaga decided to dedicate the Billy Strayhorn classic "Lush Life" to LGBT youth.

"I would like to dedicate this song tonight to all the kids that couldn't go out because they were too young," Mother Monster said. "You know, the kids that are like 15, 16 years old that are at home or maybe here, wondering if they are gay, or LGBT, bi-curious. And they want to celebrate Marriage Equality but they don't know how because they haven't told anybody yet. But they're excited because they feel valued. I want this song to be for them."

Gaga's speech was met with a huge roar of appreciation from the sold-out crowd, although quite a few older audience members showed their disappointment and stormed out of the theatre.

Many thanks to our reader Anthony for the video.
