IFPI said it has sold 2.3M. That 1.8M figure is from an unreliable user living in a basement who estimates his figures based on IFPI's own numbers.

Excuse you but ARTPOP HAD THE GP TALKING ABOUT IT'S FLOP FOR LIKE THE WHOLE OF NOVEMBER + DECEMBER! All that was ever associated with Lady gaga was "ARTFLOP". It got people interested to see for themselves if it was a so called flop. Like how the Smilers had everyone interested in WB MV when they talked out Naked Miley. That's why it is so popular. Naked, licking a hammer and all the "bad" publicity Miley got from the VMA's she used to get more fame. Marketing genius. Like Gaga who used the publicity from the SXSW thing to announce a single, video and a possible continuation of her "flop".

Many others have missed out on a lot of fun and enjoyment from the music and the performances over the years, because they buy into these senseless Pop girl wars. That shiit belongs at sites like ATRL, not on a fanboard! I can see why many fans decide to just do twitter, to control their own experience. The only thing that is sad about all of this, is that GGD is one of the first places new fans will find, when looking for a site to talk about Gaga.
