drbumblenut 48
ARTPOP is my favorite. As much as I enjoy the more progressive tracks off of her first two albums (Bad Romance is still her magnum opus) and as much as I appreciate the balls-to-the-wall rebel cries of Born This Way, this is the first time where she was able to bring her unique perspectives to an album that was sonically fascinating and, at times, a bit inscrutable. I didn't hear 80s glam-rock, and I didn't hear Springsteen-meets-Houston. I didn't hear as much of her purposefully emulating other artists. What I heard was Gaga. Wow. I love this post. mic 1,415
This means that they haven't heard TF album? There are MANY fans in here from TF Era including me me this doesn't mean anything. Just bacause you like it more doesn't mean anything at all. Especially the results about TF are the most accurate, the difference with the other albums is huge. If you knew how statistic works you would know that its accurate. You still didn't get it
XoXoJoanneGaga 629
This is the only place in the world where ARTPOP would be #

Of course it's going to win. It would have been better to wait until the era is over.

When the Era will be over people will have played ARTPOP like a million times and they will be fed up with it, the same happened with the previous albums when the Eras where over. With that way of thinking no time is the right one so lets stop trying to find problems where they are not and being very judgemental.
Miel 15,009
Thanks for doing the poll :) Glad to see ARTPOP on the top, though I believe Born This Way is still her best. I'm just happy that all of her albums are great, though. 3 points in and ready for more

It's still in its honeymoon phrase despite some incidents. All I'm saying is that it's not accurate

What I heard was Gaga. in my opinion that just means born this way was more inspired and had better direction. to me ARTPOP sounds like gaga....from 2009-2010. it was a step back for me, and i felt it pandered. of course it has its moments, s-x dreams and ARTPOP being the most sophisticated cuts, which cant be compared to anything she's done, and her vocals are better than ever, but overall its execution takes away from the gems. its A+ material being watered down to sound and feel like B material, maybe even C material in some areas, whereas born this way may not have technically had as great of vocals, the fine tuning, the withdraw, but it was passionate, it had more conviction, it was a fighting album. in reference to her saying "born this way was sort of the fight, and ARTPOP is the celebration afterwards" to me sounds complacent. i think she just wanted to make an inconsequential album to try and get people to like her again, since so many of her fans told her to, all under the disguise of still pushing boundaries. and in terms of sound, god born this way just takes the cake. its references maybe older than the musical references on ARTPOP, but thats what makes it so much better, because ARTPOP borrows too much from the contemporary scene which makes it seem dated to me. born this way has interesting production, it had personality, it didnt sound contrived and stiff like ARTPOP. I understand what you're saying, and I disagree. We've had this discussion before. ;) There are many songs on this album that don't sound like anything she has done before, and no I don't hear anything being watered down. Don't get me wrong, I adore both albums. But while Born This Way had the objective and the ambition, ARTPOP has the finesse and purely rhythmic pleasures. Apples and oranges, really, and I prefer the latter.
