If it's already Top 40, it'll go Top 20 and stabilize in the Top 30 which is noticeable. That is a good point of view actually. u are assuming the song will go top 40 only with radio support right? Katy's performances barely push any song she performs on iTunes. that's why Capitol spend their money on radio stations, rather than on her performances or her tour because they know it won't get them enough money. Katy's performances barely push any song she performs on iTunes. that's why Capitol spend their money on radio stations, rather than on her performances or her tour because they know it won't get them enough money. all her performances give her songs good boost (at least in the US iTunes). It could also go Top 40 from a commercial, social media (VEVO, VINE, covers). But since it already has a video and won't get a commercial, it'll need radio support (or a discount) to go Top 40.
