It is a rental and it is a one bedroom. A one bedroom is not elaborate, IN ANY WAY, for someone worth close to 200 million dollars. Gaga has enough money to buy a huge three bedroom apartment, still overlooking Central Park! Her level of income would usually mean a HUGE apartment in the city and a large vacation home in the Hamptons, plus a very nice house on the ocean, for when she is in LA.

Most artists, with her level of success, have 2 or 3 elaborate properties they have bought. They don't have a single bedroom apartment that they rent, and that's all! :smh:

Let's look at Rihanna. Here is her "vacation home" in Barbados:

Now, do you see that Gaga lives in a small space, when compared to her contemporaries?

"Music not the bling" is about not making music with money as the main and only motor. Music is art, and as you share your work you gain money, but thats a secondary effect; thats the way Gaga plays this game imo.

Now, when many people buy your art, you make lots of money; and u can do whatever u want with it. Thats what Gaga did by decorating her place beautifuly.

This. People that make as much as Gaga does own like beach front mansions. Gaga is renting a one bedroom apartment. Lol

Ohh goodness, maybe it's just my interpretation of it, but I think they're gonna beat her with it out of context

"Music not the bling" is more about the art and music. Of course she's a lot about the money, what with the fashion and general amenities, but when we go back to her whole "I hate money"/"Shoot that money, you don't need it!" is all about how it's not just about the money. Through her hard work and business decisions, she's made enough for herself that she can live nicely and comfortably- just that it's not all about that.

I think???

Definitely. A lot of people have taken it to mean she literally despises money or luxury or something, which would be totally wrong, which would of course be silly as we all know for someone as theatric and elaborate as her, she can't do without it. Just like when she criticized corporate sponsorship and music and a people thought she meant "no sponsors, ever", when all she was going after is the level that corporate sponsors want to control an artistes image. I tend to agree a lot more with your interpretation :)

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I really loved that she cleared up the anti-corporation statements at SXSW. It was an amazing interview, and she put a lot of people in their place :)

Thank you :)

3 points in and ready for more

This is so true. Its really all relative. To us, her apartment seems really fancy but in the grand scheme of things gaga can afford a place 10 times as nice and expensive as this apartment. Yea and other celebrities of her caliber basically live like kings and queens. I guess gaga is comparing herself to other celebrities when she says her apartment is small.

Are people really still debating about her apartment? :awkney: You guys take things way too seriously.

Anyways, any updates? I just got home, has anything interesting happened yet (for those of you who have been watching)?

You brought it up and took it seriously enough to write a long paragraph about it, criticizing Gaga and her lifestyle. Stop acting surprised that people responded to your critical, completely out of line, little rant.

And don't try and play the innocent victim card, now. No one is going to buy that. Just own it.
