Lady Gaga's touring decay

I think she should've just skipped AUS on this tour. She obviously did not have time to go there and promote the album, plus the album didn't do well from the get go. Skipping AUS on this tour would have been the better choice.

Although, It is extremely shocking how quickly AUS turned on Gaga and has not supported the album at all.

That is so rude. Aus may have turned on Gaga but that isn't Australia's fault really. Gaga's management had Aus promotion DOWN in 2011 and 2012 and you couldn't go anywhere without seeing her. All her singles up to You and I did well, and that promo resulted in good tour sales.

For you to say that Gaga should deny her earliest fans (ones that have stuck since Just Dance went #1 here FIRST in 2008) the chance to see her at one show even if the demand is lower for this album, you're mistaken.

Little Monsters alone have nearly sold out those four dates. Casual fans don't go to Gaga concerts, they go to Katy's who has sold out over 20 dates. :flop: Gaga's music this era (and every era since The Fame) has really appealed only to teens and young people so Gaga might look like more of a "flop" but Katy gets not only the child sales but parents who have to take them along too. Young children and older people wouldn't be caught dead at a Lady Gaga concert.

I think Gaga has a different, smaller target demographic.  She's more of a niche artist now, not that there's anything bad, but people just don't want to be associated with her anymore.

There's no need for you to get your feelings hurt and what I said was not rude at all. It's common sense actually. If AUS was a weaker market this era, then she should've avoided it altogether and given those dates to Asia instead, where the demand is high and she is sure to sell out instantly.

All the fan sentiments aside, this is a business also. She is going to go all the way to AUS to play half empty arenas? That's pretty bad and not only that but it will also be a financial loss for the tour promoter, they have to be able to at least recover the money that's put in.

You have to think practically not emotionally. Keep your inner stan out of this for a second and think about it. There are many Gaga fans all over the world who have never seen her live & Gaga has never visited their city in her entire career, but so what? It still doesn't change the fact that she will go to places only where there is demand.

Artists never tour in places where there is no demand, and why would they? It doesn't make any sense for them to do so, where the concerts might not even cover the cost of traveling and the equipment being taken there etc.

I hope by some miracle she does sell out in AUS, but right now it's not a good look! And she should have avoided it, imho!

Then why does Gaga have a tour in the first place? #MusicNotTheBling

What...?

"Artists never tour in places where there is no demand"

The US is clearly not feeling Gaga this era, neither is Australia, or Europe.

Well she'll sell out in Japan, at least.

Umm no! She is selling pretty well in the US & Europe. The demand is there, which is why more dates were added.

Oh, my bad.

She should just scrap the whole Australian leg then.

Hopefully Gaga does a MDNA type give-away package by giving everyone a copy of ARTPOP

If her trip to Sydney went as planned in January we wouldn't have this problem. It's got nothing to do with "demand," it's promotion. Her team have done nothing. her sponsors for this tour have done nothing other than a few advertisements for one week.

How do we know some 2nd dates won't be added after she does some actual tour promo?

Not even one show has sold out. They won't add anymore shows, even if it'll eventually sell out, they won't take that risk.

This tour will continue in 2015. I dont see the decay... She will come back to Australia with more dates.
