  1. 1. Why is Gaga held to such a high standard?

    • Because Gaga is The Queen Of Pop :gaga:
    • Because Gaga snatched so many weaves and destroyed so many careers in the first few years of her career :legend:
    • Buy G.U.Y on iTunes :whitney:

Can someone pls explain to me why Gaga is held to such a high standard? Ever since Applause came out haters have been saying Gaga is "over" because Applause didn't go #1, even though it's still a very successful, platinum single. Then ARTPOP, the album of the millennium was released and because ARTPOP's first week sales weren't as high as Born This Way, and it didnt sell a million copies in its first week, everyone started dragging Gaga for that.

Kesha's album Prism and Miley's album Bangerz had fiirst week sales that weren't that much better than ARTPOP, but no one called them flops or said they were over. Britney's album Britney Jean had first week sales that weren't that much higher than 100k but noone cared about that. I just think it's so funny that people were so quick to say Gaga is over when ARTPOP has been extremely successful. ARTPOP's first week sales weren't as high as Born This Way but about 250K is the average for an albums first week sales and so far Gaga has gotten two top 10 singles from ARTPOP - Applause and Dope. Do What U Want was also very successful and had strong radio airplay and it would have done better but there was no music video which is kind of unthinkable in today's music industry so whatever, and Gaga just released one of the best music videos of her whole entire career ~ G.U.Y. ~ All of Gaga's shows at Roseland have sold out and The ARTPOP Ball is also selling out like crazy and it looks like it's gonna be another record breaking world tour that Gaga can add to her list along with The Monster Ball and The Born This Way Ball :gaga:

So why is five time Grammy award winning music legend and fashion icon Lady Gaga held to such a higher standard than everyone else in the music industry? :ARTPOP:

Because Gaga became really successful very early in her career (TFM era), so people expect better than that. But she put her standards too high

"Kesha's album Prism" Wat :spin:

Personally I think she's held to such a high standard because of how much she's achieved so far. I mean, in 6 years she has achieved A LOT of quite big things and people are used to her going above and beyond, so when she doesn't it's a little weird.

Okay, even though I like Katy and love Prism, as a huge Kesha fan, I'm taking this as an insult :emma:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
