Guest
ARTPOP No matter how strong my connection with Born This Way is on an emotional level, musically ARTPOP is her best album to date. It may not be executed as expected, but it's still by far the most creative and representative work of Gaga. Free my mind ARTPOP, you make my heart stop. MikeyMoonShine 0
The Fame Monster because it's conceptually brilliant and I love all of the songs. I think BTW is probably even better conceptually but I still think several of the songs should have been cut and why even release those bonus tracks? LoveandMagic 1,731
Born This Way. I don't listen to much pop music, so while I had heard some of her other stuff the only song I identified her with was Just Dance (and the whole meat dress thing). I didn't see her VMA performances or know much about her other albums prior. I think it was around the time that Edge of Glory (which I had heard, but didn't know she did it) came out some fan (?) released a remix album torrent of a bunch of different artists and it had a Judas remix on it. The remix of Judas was really good so I decided to check out the original and was surprised to find out it was by Gaga. I fell in love with the song (and while it isn't her best song, it is still my fave) so I checked out the rest of the album and holy crap was it good! I couldn't believe a mainstream, dance pop artist would put out an album like that (expecially relatively early in her career)! Just Dance is a very good dance song, don't get me wrong, but I never would have thought the same artist would release a song like that, then create something like Schiebe. And the whole album is fantastic! Such a lovely dark flow, with some great lyrics. It's both retro and modern, metal and pop, and so well done. I love just about every song on there, but my faves are Judas, Heavy Metal Lover, Schiebe, MTN, and Bloody Mary. Even the songs I'm not crazy about (Bad Kids, TEOG, Hair) I can appreciate them for their message, and because it really seemed like Gaga was very focused and at her creative best when she put the album together. There seems to be some serious talent there and she had a very clear theme and message in mind when she selected the tracks and look/feel of the whole project. I felt she really wanted to prove her worth with that album, and I think she succeeded. Anyway, long story short, it's one of my few fave pop albums and the one that got me into Gaga. I did check out her previous albums and liked them (I can see why they had such an impact in pop culture). But to me, Born This Way is something special. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
Tropico 4,145
Hard decision because I Love ARTPOP and Born This Way very much and I always struggle to choose but ultimately the very best album I've ever heard is Born This Way. I love it mostly for the message. I love what it teaches young people like me and how it is such a strong and talented voice of this generation. It has always inspired me and of recently inspired me to take up writing seeing as Gaga wrote such a lovely album. I admired her so much because of it. I also love her vocals in the album. Out of all her albums it is shows how great her voice is the most. While other albums seem to be to "barbie" or have to much EDM in it this is just strong vocals all the way. There is not a single track which I do not like. It also holds some of my favorite songs. Marry The Night (my favorite song in all exsistence), Judas (I love this idk why people don't), Hair, Bloody Mary etc.It is also brilliantly produced h her excellent vocals adding to the awesomeness. I love how Judas and Scheisse are produced. I feel like this album free's me and ARTPOP has the same effect so that's why I can't really choose easily but Born This Way will always have a special place in my heart. Thank God and Gaga for such an album! It is the saving grace of pop music :Legend: ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
GagaDragon 10
Born This Way with TFM behind it Why? Well firstly it's been a while since it came out yet i can't go a day without at least listening to one of the songs off it. It is one of my favourite albums of all time. I'm already over ARTPOP and have been listening to BTW more recently. The overall message of the album was just beautiful and i simply love DarkGa. Gaga did was she wanted with this album which i really appreciated as you can tell by listening to each song how much blood, sweat and tears went into making it. This album also means so much to me, i listen to songs like Hair and Bad Kids and it just speaks to me and touches the heart. Whenever i'm feeling down, i just put on my headphones and listen to the album and i just forget about everything and focus on the music. Why not the other albums...: TFM: Not enough songs and not as meaningful to me like BTW is but damn it was flawless except for Teeth but every album has some dislikable songs TF: Stand out tracks followed by decent tracks and not her most unique body of work but extremely solid album overall. ARTPOP: Some amazing tracks (Venus, Aura, Sexx Dreams, GUY, DWUW, Applause) but then some horrendously bad tracks (J&D, Donatella, MJH, Dope) Not a bad album and could have been flawless without these tracks. After such a long wait i expected better from the follow up to BTW, but it was disappointing.
Celina 118
Musically, Born This Way, simply because each song on the album is fantastic. I feel the same way about TFM, but 17 great songs > 8 great songs, so BTW wins. Plus, BTW contains most of my favorite Gaga songs. ARTPOP and TF are also close, don't get me wrong. I love all of her albums, but there are 1 or 2 songs on both of those that I'm not too crazy about.
Deacon 5
Born This Way. It's full of creative rage, freedom, distorted structure, strong conviction (vocally, sonically, and lyrically), and it's a perfect fusion of her biggest influences and favorite social topics. Gaga's devotion to this album is crystal clear. All of the long nights she spent working on every inch of it comes through in almost every song, and makes it all the more inspiring for me as an artist. I also love the landscape of it - how it sounds like this melded, twisted paradise for bikers, sinners, and saints, and encourages you to live by your own rules and religion. It's a powerhouse of an album and Gaga at her absolute best IMO.
samkuronuma 0
Born This Way, it has my favourite songs & memories associated with it, but ARTPOP isn't too far behind as it's so cohesive and well made that you can listen to it from beginning to end no problem. IAmTheX 0
The Fame Monster. It has absolutely no fillers, the melodies are catchy without sounding silly and there's like a kind of perfect point between experimentality and commerciality. It's the album that made me a LM. I alo love BTW and ARTPOP
