VforVendetta 2,024
The fate of G.U.Y. (or whatever the third single may be) could be pre-determined by the performance of its predecessors (DWUW, Applause, and ARTPOP itself). Though it shouldn't be treated 100% in absolute terms, it gives us at least a picture on what might happen or not. For example, we can make predictions on the outcome of an election through the results of a survey because it measures the level of interest among the electorate. In this case, I see the past singles or the album sales of ARTPOP as the "measure" of interest over Gaga, and that might explain the current state of the single we have, which is G.U.Y. True. But so did the other huge pop stars before her like Britney Spears and Michael Jackson among others. They were criticized and called out for the downturn of their careers. And why so? Because media only report on what actually happens, regardless of how favourable or unfavourable it might be for the celebrities. Public interest over them always goes down anyway. Nowhere did I mention that the public isn't interested in Gaga. It just so happened that we cannot deny that interest over her is poor, as reflected by the sales. And there's nothing wrong about it. It's simply inevitable, as shown by the careers of almost every public figure. Probably. I'm just convinced that the MV release will only allow DWUW to peak within the top 10 of the HOT 100, but not significantly boost its sales in the long run. And the tour has just began. Expecting more rises within the coming weeks. Not at all. Videos are more important for Gaga than most other pop stars. A Lady Gaga song without a video is half. Not even getting 10M AI? That's worse than horrible. We shouldn't even consider GUY to be a single tbh, it wasn't treated as one apart from the video. Radio has its faults, but not as much as her management, that wasnt able to build some interest around it with some standard promo moves. Im sure that the GP doesnt even know that GUY exists. Bt1 5,213
Management did plan a lot of radio interviewers that were supposed to translate into radio playing the song. But radio never did Management didnt even announce the single until 2 days before the video. They put the radio add so far away. She did so many interviews for nothing. I remmember that Z100 didnt even play the song with the interview. At the end of the day, when was radio turn to play the song, the song wasnt top 400 on Itunes, because things were badly managed. The only radio stations that I can blame for not playing the song at least one week on d list are the ones were she did interviews. They could have said : Wow. 400 on Itunes, but hey she was here last week and she was nice. Lets give her 3 plays per day for one week to see whats happening. So FU KIIS and Z100. :ARTPOP:
