PlasticHo 706
When was the last time a traditional, classic jazz song reached this high on the charts? In comparison to other jazz records I'd say people are here for jazzga. Keep in mind that jazz doesn't sell anywhere near as much as pop in singles. This tbh. I also don't think a lot of the US have gotten home to buy it or even know about it. (Not talking about Monsters, talking about the GP)
ryhanna 3,507
People aren't here for jazz on the mainstream charts in general. Not just Gaga. And it's only achieving this peak from the fanbase that actually wanted to buy it. Not the GP. Exactly. A lot of hardcore jazz fans probably don't even have iTunes accounts. ViviLittleM 3
I just hope fans and GP will buy the album. But it's not the thing which is important. for this album, the critics are important, not the sales.

If they continue with this kind of promo - nice promo and if they do some important performances where you can see Gaga's vocal range which is pretty impressive + holiday sales, I think we can expect decent to great album sales.. As for singles, don't expect anything from them, they will be released purely to hype the album or for the hard-core fans etc..
AquaFire Witch 160
I don't own any jazz records except for Robbie Williams because I am a fan of his. I thought even if you don't like jazz you'd still buy the record to support her.I think this is something people should get use to. She's not influenced by pop music alone. She is always saying she loves her fans because they let her be herself. I hope folks continue to do that. And I am sure Gaga didn't put out Cheek to Cheek for a number one record. I am sure she and her label know how jazz records chart.Just enjoy the music! :)

Tony Bennet is old and will probably die in the next decade and this will probably be his most memorable work of the last years.
