Runway 27,876
I really think we don't understand why they have the record at such a high price..yes if its cheaper more will sell I think they know that but there must be a reason why its the price it is. maybe they need to sell certain amounts for a high price b4 they start discounting ... they need to get back something off that $25 million deficit ARTPOP caused

Yes we do Record sales are decreasing To compensate, you increase costs to increase profits.
aussie27 0
They want an album without gaga's name on it Most of the GP didn't even give ARTPOP a first listen after they saw "LADY GAGA" on it Seriously speaking why do you think the GP is anti gaga? What is it about her that is a turnoff to the public. I'm not a huge fan [i'm being honest] I have my opinions why I think people find her a turn off - what do you think makes her so polarising to the general public? Yes we do Record sales are decreasing To compensate, you increase costs to increase profits. I disagree it's better to sell more at a cheap price the % margin is smaller BUT THE OVERALL PROFIT AMOUNT IN DOLLARS IS HIGHER!
craig 680
Just hearing songs like DWUW on ARTPOP perplexes me me. why it couldn't do better...like its pop perfection. what does the gp want?? It's nothing special -R&B song of type that used to be fashionable. Beyonce could put it out and it would do about the same.

They use a sale strategy similar to most retailers. Product goes on sale regularly with ads to attract price sensitive buyers. Next week other products get the discount and banners. In between they charge more for non-price sensitive buyers.
Dean Winchester 197
Seriously speaking why do you think the GP is anti gaga? What is it about her that is a turnoff to the public. I'm not a huge fan [i'm being honest] I have my opinions why I think people find her a turn off - what do you think makes her so polarising to the general public? In my opinion, what started to turn people off began with the Alejandro Music Video. And then she dug a deeper hole throughout the BTW era with the overly dark imagery, preachy attitude and the controversies (Judas, BTW/EY). I, personally loved all these things and praise her for pushing boundaries but i doubt the public sees it that way. People just don't want a popstar that comes with too much baggage, they don't want to know how to love themselves; they don't want religious symbolism, they don't want music videos with homoeroticism that makes serious statements about society. They want a brainless popstar who's music they can listen to without THINKING. Most people don't listen to music or watch music videos to learn a lesson, they just want to be entertained. And when gaga started going into a less light-hearted phase, they abandoned her. Gaga started targetting her core fanbase all the time, and completely forgot about the general public, or any casual listeners of her music. She still has a core fanbase, us and she'll always have us but we ain't enough to get huge sales and ticketsales. Hopefully, she can rebuild her image in the eyes of the public. To me, she's perfect and i love everything she's done and i don't really care for the charts and bling but that's what I think happened.

I am a bit confused why BTW was a turn off I don't think it was bad it certainly didn't annoy me. Like I said I'm not a huge fan my main gripe is the whole ART thing. to me she comes across too pretentious and she is trying to make out as if she is revolutionary with the concept - that is what bugs me. Personally, I think she just needs to tone down the ART talking and tone down the outfits as I think it comes across as deperate. I have 6 tracks on ARTPOP which I only listen to. It's not my favourite album but IMO it is not as bad as some people are saying. I'm not trying to argue just giving you a different opinion for hardcore fans. They use a sale strategy similar to most retailers. Product goes on sale regularly with ads to attract price sensitive buyers. Next week other products get the discount and banners. In between they charge more for non-price sensitive buyers. Personally, I run my own business and if something doesn't sell I would rather reduce products and sell a lot of them have a smaller profit but at least get some money back. The money has been spent on producing the album so even if they from now on sell it for 3.99 from now on [they are only sending a digital file] I think they should - it's just a good business strategy IMO. However, I think gaga should keep talking about art, and self-empowerment and do whatever she wants. Who cares if she turns people off? She's already had all the success she's ever wanted, and i think now it would be best for gaga to make the art she wants even if that means no more commercial success. Gaga is a smart woman, and i think she knows exactly what she's doing. She wants to try change pop culture by injecting art into everything she does and i think that's brilliant. Years from now, gaga will be praised for what she's trying to do even if she goes down in burning flames.
