Blank Space 0
Discount isn't a shame, DH is discounted in Europe, check Spain iTunes for example, it's doing great, but it's still discounted, so where is the shame? They need to do it, so after it rolls up a little bit, they can go back to regular price and it will do fine. degenerate 526
Does anybody think releasing the video so early was a mistake? If the video were to be coming out this Saturday, it would be a completely different story on the charts. Her excitement getting in the way, nothing new
Essence 235
Venus, Sexxx Dreams and Gypsy the only true smashes on the album tbqmfh. (Along with Applause and DWUW). GUY is just too "out there", no catchy chorus, hard to dance to, no hetero friendly. I've played it for people and they think she wants to be a man. In terms of feminism songs, Scheisse is muuuch stronger and conveys it's message clearer. Don't even discredit Venus and say it's one of the first songs on the album and it was a promo single. Dope got 10x more it's promo, was on YouTube awards, and a promo single and has sold less. Even ARTPOP, the title track, more promo, and the first song in the video wasn't as popular as Venus. this would be more fit in the random conversations thread. Also, don't tell me Venus would be some sort of guaranteed smash. And s-xxx dreams would be so risky. G.U.Y. is a good single choice under bad circumstances. I knew all of you would point fingers as soon as the single started to not do well.

It's Gaga, it'll be seen as desperate But it would just increase the visibility of the single as a whole
HANZ 4,380
G.U.Y PLZ rise My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
PdogtheDaibutsu 717
Her excitement getting in the way, nothing new But what in the world is her manager/team there for then?
Arturo 40,746
Applause went perfectly fine. It's just about to reach 2.5M and is already one of her most memorable songs. DWUW was rocky, but it sold 1.1M and spent multiple weeks in the Top 20 which is fair enough. However, as of now, what's happening with G.U.Y is truly worth being concerned over. Not the "Omg Applause didn't go #1"s or "Omg DWUW didn't go Top 10"s If G.U.Y truly ends up flopping, then I REALLY think she shouldn't even do an Act II. If the video were to be coming out this Saturday, it would be a completely different story on the charts. yes it was or she should of atleast released the video and the next day have the radio add date Upvote G.U.Y., it can get a play on big station here: http://www.kisscleveland.com/pages/Takeover/?desktop=true&desktopviewduration=86400 OMFG g.u.y. was supposed to be played next cuz it was first on that chart thing and they played applause
Arturo 40,746
I wonder what a promo spot on a REAL music platform (i.e a show with Gaga's target audience) would do for the song. These little late night stints (Fallon + Letterman) were pretty useless... When is The Voice doing performances? Because we need one in the next 26 days
Stefani328 321
It's Gaga, it'll be seen as desperate But it would just increase the visibility of the single as a whole It does seem desperate but it would surely help. A song in the Top 100 or 200 is more appealing to people looking to buy new music.
Like It Rough 144
Would re-releasing DWUW actually be a smart idea or do we just think it would be? Maybe won't have a higher peak, but it will go 2x platinum and video will have a millions of views.

Every other artist does it and she needs the exposure for it honestly
PdogtheDaibutsu 717
You would think gaga hosting American top 40 would give her some sort of incentive...even the slightest bit?
Mills 446
If G.U.Y truly ends up flopping, then I REALLY think she shouldn't even do an Act II. The only reason why I'm supporting an ACT II is for its sales to be combined with the current album. Hopefully in the form of a re-release. I'm still under a strong conviction that they should never allow this album to be her first major release to not cross the 1 million mark in sales. It's too early.
