For me G.U.Y is the best song on ARTPOP and doesnt deserve flopping so hard. The thirst is real because we havent had a smash hit for 3 years and G.U.Y was written to be a smash. I am mad because had Rihanna sang it it would have been prbably #1 by now. Its sad tbh. From +10M selling singles weve come to pray for a gold certification But lets hope Gags can play her cards( with spades to start :lolgag: ) right with the next album and delivers some smashes. Optimus 298 Posted April 5, 2014 Share Posted April 5, 2014 The thing is Applause, DWUW, and GUY would've all been smashes if they were released by any other pop artist other than gaga tbh The one thing that is on point this era are the single choices I dont agree with the bold parts. For me the best singles choices were: 1.G.U.Y- the perfect lead single. It would have been a hit IMO 2.DWUW 3.Take a little risk with a remix of Sexxx Dreams. If it becomes a hit then good, if it flops, then move on to something safe like Gypsy 4.Gypsy 5.Applause Applause is the perfect final single. The only reason Unconditionally even made it to the Top 20 was because radio played the crap out of it just because it was a Katy song. If you look at the ratio between Uncle's airplay and it's sales and charting, it's criminal. This is accurate. Radio was NOT going to let a KP song hang in the 30s and 40s!
