While this is probably a very mid album that would never actually win a major award, it’s massive success would’ve been a bit harder to ignore this time around. It could’ve been the Country submission for AOTY honestly , which ultimately would’ve benefited us as less Pop records would’ve been considered.

Good. They blacklisted him after his racist remarks but because MAGA made his album #1 for months they all backtracked and made him bigger in the US.

I don’t think it’s an absolute necessity? I remember reading something about the academy still nominating some work if it’s not submitted/change the categories the work was submitted for if they think it doesn’t belong
