One thing that many religious people or even some of the stricter parents fail to remember is that Gaga is Catholic/Christian herself and she does support her own faith. She does not, however, push it on anyone and nor should she. What her message supports is being yourself, having your own beliefs, etc. whether it is being gay or straight, being of a certain faith, dressing how you want, chasing your dreams not the dreams of others . . . not letting anyone hold you down. And that, is a powerful message.

Also, tell your mom that from early on, Gaga not only loved music but theater, and that her concert can also be looked at as theater performance - a musical, if you will. Just trying to help you out with some ways to approach your mom about this. I agree with one of the other posters, you should not sneak out and this really has nothing to with you coming out.

I'd let her go with you. Just tell her to be open minded before the show and that she may she things that she won't like but it's what you like and everyone has there own tastes in music etc I'm 17 and going to see it with my mum( because she wouldn't let me go on my own :toofunny:) but then again she does like Gaga but if you really don't want her to go could you find a friend to go with you or just make a point that you are almost 18 and need to be treated more like an adult and have more independence.
