I feel like most of you guys just don't get it. Gaga performs and says things like "**** pop", "you don't need record labels", "**** cellphones and enjoy the music". And then I come here and people are still like "Gaga where is the new single", "OMG the GP is not going to understand her", ect. Don't you guys see that what Gaga is trying to say is that when it comes to music you should forget about everything else and just enjoy it? Just like in her lyrics "Free my mind ARTPOP, you make my heart stop", Gaga is basically telling you that you should be free, creative, and in the moment. Gaga is saying "forget the business, the promo, forget what other people think, just ****ing enjoy the music".

I do get it, I just didn't enjoy the show.

I've always defended her to the hilt, but when she started singing that version of Bad Romance, I was just like

"What?!? This doesn't sound good at all."

And then on top of it she shades Applause. It just put a really sour note on that whole show for me.

You gotta be kidding :awkney:

No, I'm not kidding.

She was like "This is your music guyzzzz!!!!!"

And I'm literally from the country, it was insulting to country music, and it was insulting to Bad Romance.

She didn't necessarily shade Applause. She was shading that she has to sing a single simply because it's what "the label" wants.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I'm literally from the country too and I loved it. It's just different strokes for different blokes.

She doesn't HAVE to do anything. I would rather her not sing it at all then give it attitude. Before ARTPOP she would have never given attitude like that.

Applause was the one thing about this album that ended up slightly functional, and now she's dismissive towards it. That really irks me.

What do you mean doesn't have to? If she's part of a label contract she has to fulfill their wants and promotion for the sake of money is one of those obligations.

If she doesn't want to sing Applause (which is what she implied) then that defeats the entire purpose of it all.

If she doesn't want to promote this album, I would rather her not promote it, instead of staging these "protest" performances.

I am someone who appreciates nonconformity, but to me, this is the epitome of conformity in a world where Miley Cyrus is considered cool and trendy.
