As for songs not being as good as I expected, I'll say GUY because the title had me hyped but it turned out to be a feminist anthem I can't relate to. Swine and MANiCURE only because the Swinefest versions were a billion times better than the album versions, they lost a lot of character even though I thought they'd be some of my favorites when the album dropped. Applause is extremely well balanced and it has a unique signature sound and meaning that makes it shine (at least for me). Aura is a great song but for me Applause is my second favorite Lady Gaga song after Bad Romance. I have to say, Applause definitely grew on me. I still don't care for the verses- lyrically or vocally- but the instrumental is so amazing. Not my favorite, but I definitely don't hate it anymore.
