The promo pics for the Medusa video were released even before the Play video came out and the actual MV was released like 2 weeks ago so I guess we can expect the I'm Not Yours MV to surface around early/mid-January :emma:

So I just listened to Juice=Juice's "Hello Kitty Musical" soundtrack. Apparently J=J and all the other groups in their label (which is a bunch of young girl groups like them) are all part of an acting club called Gekijo ("Drama Woman") and they do musicals with all-girl casts. So they sang the soundtrack for this particular musical. The plot of the show:

Hello Kitty is a being from the Land of Toys, sent to Earth to bring love and happiness to her owner. One day, after being abandoned and found by a high school boy, Yuuya, she falls in love and decides to become human to be with him. However, if she can't get a kiss from Yuuya within three days, Hello Kitty's existence will vanish forever.

Little Mermaid says hello :manicure:

but omfg the set design and lighting are actually really well-done:

The soundtrack is... a soundtrack. Like a lot of dialogue and dance breaks and such. The only remotely good song is "Shooting Star."

No when Japanese people refer to Hello Kitty, they mean it. :flop:

So basically the JPop scene is gonna close 2014 with Hello Kitty and open 2015 with KISS...

MAKES SENSE TO ME.

The cartwheel part reminds me of the intro to the Alejandro video. Where the guys are marching around scaring the crap outta me.

omfg the end slate: SEVEN GIRLS DRESSED AS BEAUTIFUL BOYS :lmao:

Beautiful is a strong word tbh...

ikr, I love how obvious their slogan is :lmao:

And look at the state of their "press release" on TokyoHive: "In addition to their looks and singing skills, this group's specialty is said to be the members' high performance skills, as all members can do cartwheels, and 3 members are good at doing backflips."

wait wait wait... TokyoHive actually published an article? That wasn't just a copy-paste of the Oricon chart?

someone at OneHallyu made a thread titled "TokyoHive gets one new comment a month". I laughed out loud. I remember being so excited when I discovered it, like "oooh it's like allkpop for jpop!" but they seriously never update it.

Honestly it's not like ALLK-Pop & Co. are the go-to websites when it comes to Asian Pop news anyway. They're kinda like the Perez Hilton/Buzzfeed of the Asian world, that is, no good unless you want to feed on some gossip and/or see "What member of LABOUM is the PERFECT MATCH for you?" :emma:

are there better sites you can recommend? Cuz following allkpop on facebook is kind of a pain in the ass. They're pushing their "buzz" section like crazy, but it's never anything important or interesting.

Their quizzes :wtfga:
