Chaymie 845
Hey Guys! :) So, I decided to Encode the ARTPOP (track) from the Vinyl for those who's wondering what it sounds like. Its not the best quality and the quality could have dropped from the encoding but I hope some of you will enjoy it. :) and it kinda skips abit at the beginning due to my players needle. Video link here. :) http://youtu.be/Oyn6MZj8sgc?t=3m31s Chaymie

UrethraFranklin 434
I could be wrong, but this feels so different... Somehow it feels more... wide? if that makes sense. The CD version sounds so contained but this feels like it stretches wider.
Maxxie 37
Unless you're recording it on 192 kHz PCM or something equivalent, it's pointless. The encoding will transform it on the exact same thing that is on iTunes CDs with artifacts from your player and anything sounding different will be a result of recording EQ. Aaaand you're using YouTube, which uses AAC in 125 kbps so... yeah. Thanks for your effort, though!

Didn't know about all that stuff. :( I know it was gonna sound bad and I don't have the best player in the world so... haha :) Chaymie

Watched your Vinyl unboxing video earlier this morning. Haha, Thanks! :) Yeah, I don't come here that often. And even if I come, I just mainly stay in the CD collection thread. But thank you so much for your support! Chaymie

Yay! Thank you!! Haha Actually, my encoding was very bad and sounds crappy. I'm sure and I've been told that the direct sound quality of a Vinyl is much better than a CD. I haven't got a speaker yet for my player yet so this is how I've been listening to my vinyls so far, through a mp3 encoding so, i still have yet to witness the glory of the vinyl. If you finally decide to get it, get a real good one! I couldn't wait to save up more so I just got something around $250 and it doesn't sound that good. The CD version sounds so contained but this feels like it stretches wider. That can happen with vynil.Digital transfers are basically zeros and ones being dragged across space. The vynil is a continuous recording -- no zeros and ones, just a straight recording. It's similar to taking a pencil and poking holes in a moving page (digital ones and zeros)and taking that same pencil and drawing a straight line across it while it moves (vynil transfer) Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Ladle Ghoulash 17,000
I agree with the wider comments and would also say that you're able to detect more of the subtle things that are going on in the production.
