People really try to find any reason to be offended. It may be controversial, but not worthy of censorship in my opinion.

I think the issue really lies in the deeper politics of it all and what Hollywood stands for, and this was just a simple reaffirmation to those countries of how vapid some Western pop can be.

not that this petition would actually do anything, but gosh the willingness to support censorship is contemptible. religions don't get to say what we can put in music videos on youtube.

Thank you, even if this was a criticism of religion, that is not the same as making attacks on actual people. In it's most basic form, religion is simply a mass of ideals, stories, and rules, none of these which should be excluded from debate or criticism or mockery. You can separate religious views from the actual that believe in them.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

The name of God is very holy in Islam, the burning of it is super bad. It's not people being oversensitive, I wish it was

It's a double standard. Blasphemy also exists in the christian religion but nobody gives a ****, someone threatens to say something about freacking allah and everyone freaks out.

That's also a good point. I guess I just don't think censorship is the answer. If they want to educate people about how misinformed and misrepresented countries are that's great and I support the spreading of knowledge, but asking for the video to be removed entirely? Seems a little extreme.

Second, way to mix symbols for different eras, Pharaonic Egypt being around 2000 to 56 BC, but Islam spread in Egypt only in 7th century AD

Islam did not invent the word Allah though, it was in use before their Prophet.

Then she chooses the singles nobody wanted and refuses to promote or release videos or news :derpga:

And right after that she films new mv's in a historical place where she wasn't even allowed to film in :derpga:

Fun Fact: The K in KPop stands for "Kate Bush"

I agree, while censorship is ok in some cases (ie child ****), I cannot really side with this one. But it also could be the fact that I'm not the one practicing the religion, nor am I the individual who this offended, so I try to keep an open mind. I think the worst part is, though, that her team or her haven't released a statement. This is going to bubble up unless they can somehow contain it.

Extreme is the keyword there. It's unfortunate that Islam and extreme upholding of beliefs have become synonymous with each other since time immemorial. It's even more unfortunate to those people / entities who suffer their indignation.

no! we need the freedom to mock and criticise all forms of authority. it's an innate quality in freedom. plus, you can't actually blaspheme if you don't believe there's anything to blaspheme. i shouldn't have to modify my actions just because somebody has decided that it's "offensive". it's offensive to me to be told that i mustn't mock things that i believe are hokum. waiting for the petition for that.

Then confuse fans by playing multiple songs on set and then perform another optional song on Jimmy :derpga:
