Are you concerned that G.U.Y isn't catchy enough?

My concern is that the general public could find it too loud/heavy in terms of different sounds etc., but I don't know. We will see! I hope it will be a huge hit, I'm sure it would make Gaga happy. :)

Of course!  But the GP likes stupidly repetitive songs!  The GP these days represents idiots when it comes to music.

It's my fave Gaga song and every friend I've played it for (none of them Gaga fans) have all sung the chorus by the second time it comes in.

It's catchy and fun and the video will be great.

For me, it just means she'll probably immortalise G.U.Y. for future tours what with it having single status which makes me very happy after the mistakes that were ignoring Scheisse/ Dance In The Dark as single choices.

No, it's extremely catchy. Also one of the cleverest things she's ever written. Some people might think it's too dirty, and others might be resistant to the suggestion of gender role reversal. But I don't think that will block it.

If anything's too repetitious, it's Sexxx Dreams. But being repetitive isn't really something that interferes with songs being hits. If anything, being repetitive is part of what makes something catchy.

No it's definitely catchy. The only thing i'm slightly worried about is if the GP will enjoy such a hard edm beat.

It's one of the catchiest songs on the album. It might be repetitive, but it's pop music. What do you expect?

EX: Can't read my, can't read my

No he can't read my poker face

Repeat same line twenty thousand times. Worldwide number 1 smash hit song.

I do think the chorus is a bit underwhelming sometimes, but the verses, bridge, and pre-choruses all make up for that.  G.U.Y. can be Gaga's comeback.  I promise.

"Love me, Love me, Please Retweet" will be iconic :legend:

For those of you concerned that "the GP won't like it"

It's her 4th most played track from ARTPOP on Spotify and she has never performed this song anywhere.

The most played track is Applause obviously -it's the lead single and it's been out the longest.

The second most played track is DWUW- and that's expected too.

The third most played is Venus and it's not surprising considering it was a promo single AND has been performed in a couple of locations already.

And then GUY's next with no promo.

So yea, I'm sure "the GP" will enjoy this song

This on so many levels. Everything other part of the song makes up for the underwhelming chorus. And imo, the chorus isn't even that bad.

Some of the biggest hits of the past few years:

Somebody that I used to know, somebody, somebody, somebody...

We found love in a hopeless place, we found love in a hopeless place...

Where have you been all my li-i-i-i-ife, where have you been all my li-i-i-i-ife...

Everybody talks, everybody talks, everybody talks...

I'm radioactive, radioactive, radioactive...

Ro-o-o-o-o-o-ooar ro-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-oar you're gonna hear me roar.

Trouble, trouble, trouble...

We can't stop, we won't stop for almost 4 minutes

We're up all night to get lucky, we're up all night to get lucky, We're up all night to get lucky, we're up all night to get lucky

I be on my suit and tie, **** tie, **** tie. I be on my suit and tie, **** tie, ****...

All eyes on us. All eyes on us. I wanna scream and shout and let it all out. And scream and shout and let it out.

Shine bright like a diamond Shine bright like a diamond

Don't you worry, don't you worry child

I don't care I love it, I don't care I love it

Safe and sound, safe and sound

you are my treasure, you are my treasure, you are my treasure yeah you you you

I love the way you make me feel. I love it, I love it. I love the way you make me feel. I love it, I love it

Started from the bottom now we're here, started from the bottom now we're here [x 10000]

I you're ready come and get it nananana, I you're ready come and get it nananana

Just hold on, we're going home. Just hold on, we're going home

I live for the applause, applause, applause, I live for the applause-plause, live for the applause-plause  :music:

I've got that summertime, summertime sadness S-s-summertime, summertime sadness. Got that summertime, summertime sadness. Oh, oh oh

etc, etc, etc.

So I don't think it being repetitive is a problem. It's also catchy as hell.  :toofunny:

I freaking love the chorus, especially how it's just smoothly integrated after the pre-chorus. The only problem I would say is that people might feel weird/not understand the chorus. I made a friend listen to it... she just couldn't understand the whole Lady Gaga wanting to a guy. Just a thought.
