Liam Germanotta 3
Agreed. The reason why people in this thread aren't agreeing with you is because they joined after the Alejandro video, they like the more dark stuff, where as, us fans since before Alejandro thought she was a more light artist. It's almost confusing sometimes, but I'm glad there's still some fans left since before Alejandro tbh! The thing is, it wouldn't be so bad if the eras would at least be handled professionally... VFD 57
I disagree. I don't think she has changed that much. She has simply matured, as everyone does. And quite frankly, I didn't became a fan solely because of the music. What hooked me was her image as a whole, and I was fascinated by the way she portrayed herself in interviews and of course, performances. At that time, she was this rock girl who greatly admired D. Bowie and that kept talking about "pop culture" and "art", and with very clever phrases. She was also very passionate about equality issues. Even though her music didn't really connect with what she said, it was clear to me that she was far smarter than the average pop star. Then the Paparazzi video and VMA performance arrived which finally showed the dark undertones Gaga had displayed in a much lesser extent before. I became a "stan". This tone was later solidified in TFM. During this time, or more specifically during TMB, she became much more active by advocating for equality. It wasn't until a year later that her music finally resonated which whom she was: Born This Way. A pop album with a clear rock influence, infused with dance and industrial sounds. She sung about the political, religious, and social issues which she had mostly addressed off-stage. This was truly the Lady Gaga I've seen since the beginning, except this time her message was all over your face. After the initial general shock, I was genuinely surprised at how taken aback were many of her fans. But Gaga wasn't, judging by how she referred to Born This Way as the bitter cake. I also like ARTPOP. I really liked it when it came out. But the even worse treatment of this era, including the DWUW video failure and the current phase, in addition to the fact that I still don't like her looks, make it a bit hard for me to be a fan at the moment. Listening to ARTPOP gives me a negative side taste. This shouldn't concern your "fan status", TBH. I agree that this era has been boring, because there's little going on. That's why I've not been much on GGD. But that's no reason for you to have a hard time, or affecting your mood when listening to ARTPOP. :)

leoj 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-QiIqlNXKI lady gaga in 2009 the lady gaga the GP fell in love with is not in my opinion the real lady gaga.. they fell in love with something cute and dancy.. and a little dark.. she didn't not show that side of her, the side you see in the video.. until later in 2010 and into 2011, and obviously now.. she is trying to make things lighter with her performances(because networks like mtv are forcing some of them to be lighter) that lady gaga in that video.. is the same b---h of today..
